After trying to sell my car for 2 years now I finally sold it for a hell of a lot less then I paid for it and put into it. Sold it to my friend for $5,749 with less then 92,000 miles and $8,000 worth in parts and he probably won't be keeping it long either lol. Went back to what I know and trust best picked up a silver 98' Mitsubishi Eclipse GS-T Automatic with 113,000 miles for $2300 completely bone stock, previous owner was an old guy has all the maintenance records which were done at the dealer. Time to build a 6 bolt 500-600hp monster and not have to worry about breaking transmissions or motors, shouldn't take me too long. It's been fun spending time on these forums I'll probably still lurk around sometimes.

lol you're building a dsm and you don't expect to go through motors? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAA

See crank, see crank walk, walk crank walk......

LOL you know and I was not going to go there....... ^^^^^^^^^^

Lol. I had a dsm and kissed it goodbye due to crank walk as well. I thought that when i replied to this thread, but to each there own.

I'm at work and couldn't get to the site that has the picture up or i woulda posted it so thank you lol. so many good dsm ones out there.

not saying its a bad choice but there is no such thing as a bullet proof car, every car has issues, the MSP and DSM's have more than others.

closet you'll get to zero issues, is getting a car and putting an LSx in it lol

All in good fun. Anyways GL with your DSM. Disturbed took the words right out of my mouth. I personally would have stuck it through and have done up the MSP. Anyways, have fun and measure twice, three, four...... times.

you want reliability and you went to a DSM? lol....my cuzin has 5 now parts-car eclipses he could have sold you. no joke, 5.

My msp walks on dsm all the time and heavily modified ones too, and no I don't care if you don't believe just know dsm is a downgrade and not as rare either. Good luck though

Lots of love in here, its not my first DSM its my 3rd one, I've never had a problem with any of the 3 DSM's I've owned. The only reason they have a bad rep is people that don't know how to take care of the car (the more you beat on a car or drive it hard ALL of your maintenance intervals must change!) or even how to drive them (no car drives the same) mess up the car and they immediately say its a bad car. It's never the cars fault its the owners and I can guarantee that is the problem 99% of the time. Yes the 7 bolts do crankwalk then again they weren't made in japan like the 6 bolt motors and I'm swapping in a 6 bolt. So I'm downgrading to a car in which the stock motor can put out more power then fully built FS-DE's and an automatic transmission which only needs about $500 to raise its holding capacity to 900hp?

you went from a rare nice car, to a over-rice community with a unreliable cheaply made car. that is where the problem begins, but hey...everything is possible with money, like the guy swapping the worst civic motor into a protege (protest)

I had a DSM... I took care of it... Still ran like s***. Lol!!!

Agreed.

My buddy sold his 91 CRX with a JDM B16a that ran low 14's and bought a 95 Eclipse GS-T 5-speed with about 80K miles. Took care of it never ran it from the beginning, was more of a commuter car and the turbo blew about the 2nd or 3rd month of ownership. Bought a 20G and modded it a little, ran high 12's@ 106-107mph. Sold it within the 6months he had it and went back to Honda. Got a 93 EG hatch with an JDM H22a swap.

I honestly think the DSM's are overrated. Lot of people like to defend them, but to each there own ehh

For about half the cost of what i bought my MSP for I built an 11 second dsm (def not dd material haha) Im just saying lol

900HP (jerkit)

lawls, lawls, lawls, only legit DSM i've EVER seen was the AWD eclipse with 10 inch wide wheels all around... more like 9.5, but everything was built, all forged... now that thing walked... it still only had about 450 hp with a jdm engine/tranny swap but that i'd like to see scare some Sti's...i still wouldnt trade it for my protey haha don't want rice flying out my exhaust now do i? plus , rarity exactly, but to each their own like was previously said. MSP's aren't bad cars at all why do people always get rid of them, if you mod the car right and tune it it loves to be spooled, I scare the s*** out of modded wrx's and only really have 911 turbos keeping up with me on the freeway, getting a perrin fmic hks vs2 vibrant turboback injen CAI unichip custom tuned by sam and you will think differently about the MSP... and change your damn oil!! oh yea, modded rsx's type r's turbo integ's all rice lunch... even mustang GT's audi 1.8T's @ 14 psi as well.... proteys aren't weak and they do only weigh 2700 lbs// FWD drivetrain assuming you know how to launch and put every pound of torque to the tarmac engages quicker than AWD so we have the advantage if you're not a douche
