Since starting work at a Mazda/Nissan/Ford/Hyundai dealer in July, I've sold a lot of Mazda's and get to experience them daily. A great thing, as my history has been nothing but GM after GM. In the first week I got to drive a new CX-9 GT AWD on a little trip, and as happens, it stuck with me. I wanted one, and loved the package, quality, performance and style. It just checks every box, and is smile inducing to drive.
My latest vehicle was a 2009 Chevy Avalanche Z71 I bought this past February in snow season, loved, but was bulky. Was looking at 2010 CX-9 GT's because of the extra dealer cash and low financing, but in the end as an employee at just the right time, a 2011 with special financing worked out the same--and I could go a year newer, and get exactly what I wanted.
Tired of white, found a 2011 CX-9 GT FWD in Liquid Silver/Black for myself (had to get it from another dealer in NC--fun roadtrip with a friend), loaded with all the goodies I'd otherwise add. Moonroof/Bose and Nav, but then also the Tow Prep, Remote Start, Roof Rack, Moonroof Deflector, Splash Guards and Rear Bumper Step Plate--all port installed, no after the fact.
LOVE it. Always loved everything about the way the CX-9 GT (with 20" wheels, specifically, just the best combo IMHO) felt, and the new style 2011 wheels are a favorite, as is the +1mpg city and +2mpg highway mileage improvements for 2011. Still not sure how that was improved, but doing well so far, getting about 22.7 on the first roadtrip from NC back to DE with no miles.
Big, comfy, high end luxury and quality, and absolutely fun to drive. I can never get totally comfortable in most cars, and this is just right--so glad I did the CX-9, and not go down in size to a new Mazda 6 (another awesome vehicle) as I had pondered.
Happy to finally be a zoom-zoomer myself, not just selling them
