Fender Rolling!

Hello everyone.


I have a 2006 Mazda 6s. I do not have the stock wheels on it, instead, I have the eighteen inch wheels from a Mazda CX7.

I really really really want to lower my car, but i just don't have the space in the rear to lower my car AT ALL.

I was wondering if anyone has any experiences, stories, information, or opinions for me concerning the fender rolling AND the spring type/drop size.

Go to a local tuner, pay the $50 to get it done and dont worry about it.

I rolled mine with a fender roller rented on ebay. Came with a heat gun, and instructions. VERY easy. Just go slow, and no problems.

And for everyone who will post up to use a baseball bat, just know that none of them are close enough, or willing to do it to your car. At least, that is how my thread went on another forum.

yup u can go to a local tuner as stated or get a fender roller from ur local auto parts store.. or.. u could get a heat gun and use a rubber mallet..go very slow.. baseball bat?? wouldnt advise that..

yea i just used a hammer on mine... baseball bat method im not to sure how that works

i wasnt really too worried about paint chipping off so i just used a reg ball peen hammer and beat the s*** out of them lol
worked pretty good, and just soaked the insides in wd40 so they dont rust

baseball bat has been used since the 50's. get it between the tire and fender, drive slowly, and have a friend hold the bat as it rolls the fenders.

Do it right. Do it once. Get a roller, or have a tuner shop do it.

yea i dont have any space for that, cant even get my finger in there so that wouldnt have worked lol

I never rolled a fender before, but with the proper Eastwood brand fender roller, I got it done in a couple hours. Worth the $60 to rent. just take your time.

How big of an issue is the paint cracking?

Like how easy is it for it to chip or crack?



I live in Texas by the way, so my paint is used to being heated up to 100plus temps and then rapidly cooled haha.

Well I've been thinking i might just suck it up and pay to have it done.

I'd rather not risk messing up my precious paint haha!

If you don't heat it up, and then crank it down, then easy. Warm it up, go slow, and you will be fine. Really, it is not that hard to do. Just takes patience.

ok.. so what does rolling a fender do the the actual fender.. obviously "roll it" but what does that mean no one really said exactly what it does.. i know it gives you more room but how??.. sorry im a noob.

Fenders have a 90 degree bend and point inward parallel to the ground. Rolling them folds them back under so they point to the sky and you gain a small amount of tire clearance.

ahh.. i see thank you.. does this affect performance in anyway??.. it seems like it may affect the handling or cornering somehow?
