Exhaust opinions

I have a FMIC and a Injen intake and am thinking about going with the Corksport exhaust. will i get a check engine light?

Any other mod ideas looking for best power gains for my $$$

without a cat or a MIL eliminator, yes, you'll get a cel.

never really mentioned your budget, but if you can scrap the money together, the GHL Turbo Back exhaust is supposed to be real nice, and i beleive there are options for a system with a hi-flow cat (if the emmisions problems bother you).

I basically have the combination of parts you have and the corksport exahaust. For the money imo it can't be beat. It sounds better than (IMO) other exhausts out there and provides solid gains. There are better preformers out there but I wanted no cats and a less obnoxious (outside the car) tone. With the resonator on the corksport the tone is excellent. Just keep in mind it is only 2.4 inches in diameter and is less complete compared to some other options.

I did the proto sport dp with the thermal catback. It is probally one of the best soinding exhaust systems I have heard. I have a few other things on the car as well, but you could def feel the gains..

Nothing beats a homemade exhaust. Then when someone says " Hey, your exhaust sounds awsome!! Who made it??" You can say, " Thanks, I made it".

Then everybody gives you weird looks.

I can almost say it about my SRI, but hoover at turbohoses did most of it.I be able to pick that up tomarrow.


right now I'm waiting for my apex DP and thermal R&D exhaust to arive,I bought that combo cause I liked the sound of the one in the exhaust sound clip thread.

so apexDP w/ highflow cat and thermal match up perfectly??? i am about to do this and want to make sure i don't need any special connections welded.

Perrin exhaust is the best sounding, GHL is the best deal (and has a sick DP), and Corksport is a great alternative for low $$ if you don't plan on going crazy raising the boost.

I agree with most of that,exept that the thermal sounds much better,and looks much better.

I like the more quiet exhausts(but not to quiet),and the fact that the can is very well hidden,with a nice shinny 3" tip poking out.


and yes it will bolt up to the apex no mods.it will bolt to the 2 1/2" or the 3" no prob.
