Engine Repair: Overboost/Lean

youll be able to confirm once the pistons are out. you need to check that gasket very carefully.

since the gasket is a dual stage metal gasket it could have blown only in one part for it to show low compression like you stated but my money is on the rings.

I hope you a speedy and painle$$ rebuild:)
Yeah check up on the gasket or if possible just get a new one in there since the motor is apart

BROKEN PISTON FOUND

There you go!!!!
Rings were flawless...

We didnt notice it at first until we took the rings out.

Notice that we broke on purpose just (a bit right on the picture) to be sure that the broken parts were really broken inside the engine and not by our mistake when taking out the rings. They kept in place because of the rings and compression.

Im buying new stock pistons and later next month, forged!!!!

WHoahh, at least my car was still running on the streets!

Now, I have a question.

Pistons #3 and #4 had perfect readings....should I replace them along with the rings like the others?
That will be $120 extra...

Well... I think I answered my own question.

But im not changing rods

depend on how much a piston costs? they they don't cost that much change them all. but if it cost alot for each piston they only change the 2.

any way your getting forged in about a month.

rods are weak tho... why don't you change them?

hmmm...repair $$$ factor

maybe I will, but if i were going to change them, im not going to buy new ones, maybe use the ones in my second engine.
