EGR vavle problem

i am all most done with my turbo install and had a problem with the egr tube that connect to the manifold. my ? is how long can i run with out that hooked up to the car. i have to order it from the dealer the replacement tube.
 
You should be fine. In the early days, people would just weld the EGR shut and ended up with a CEL.
 
how the hell did u get the egt tube to come off the manifold? it broke my wrench!!!!
 
I got a Plumber cap on my header where the EGR tube was suposed to line up to it. Thanks Tsudo for a not so good fit.

I hope to figure a more permanant solution next week when I get a chance to bring her in to a shop (Fricken thing is only off a half inch if that)

Im N/A so I got no worries, but in theory it helps prevent detonation like the man said, I would be light footed and not push the boost too hard to be safe, if its only a short period you should be fine.

So are you using your P5 as a daily driver while doing the turbo install? I was wondering about the feasability of keeping it driveable until you are ready "to flip the switch" and start boosting.

I guess I could do all the engine management stuff, then the exhaust stuff maybe. Can you set the boost to 0 with a turbo?

i have the car sitting for the last week, i have been using the company van. wilson

the lowest amount of boost the turbo will drop to is what the waste gate is set at... meaning you cant put a boost controller on have one setting at 0psi and another at 10psi.
