I still have to spec tires on my p5, and today while driving home from church... BAM!!! I get a blow out. No patch up can work for it, so I'm out looking for a new tire. I'm going to check around town after the holiday, but can you guys suggest some online shops with some cheap threads? They have to be Dunlop SP Sport 5000 p195 50 r16's. Thanks guys!

Tirerack has them for 110 a piece. Also, you might check the for sale section. There are usually a few guys selling their stock tires when they buy new ones. Also, you might post this in the tires forum, might get more answers there.

Yeah, there are a couple members selling pretty much new tires pretty cheap. I picked some up a while ago for 220 shipped. They had under 300 miles on them. Great deal.

I just bought a set of Kumho ESCTA All Season tires to replace my stockies. They're 69 bucks each on tirerack. I also did a quick search on the forum, it seems they have pretty good review in terms of performance and quietness.

Looking forward to get these install on Tuesday.

I had the same thing happen, well my g/f did anyway. she hit a piece of steel taht went through her tread and sidewall... Locally they wanted like $200 for a replacement, and we'd have to wait for it fomr the east coast. so I turned ot the forums, Got VERY lucky and a member here was moving, and needed to get rid of a pair. Prettymuch I paid shipping and that's it (they are expensive to send) Of course lateron when I could afford it more I paypalled a tip aswell. He was a real lifesaver.

tires

I've the direct replacement, the Dunlop FM901. They are great, but Howl alittle bit. They grip like a mother thought. I think I paid about 83 each
Cheers

if you have snow tires, might as well get some performance tires for the summer

I have two that I would like to ditch- how about $30+shipping? About 80% tread left

Yeah, but they are cheap and I'm not into racing. I just want to drive my car :)

Hey Shin, I sent you an email about those stocks. Thanks!

Well, they aren't cheap if you buy them from a retailer. They're cheap because somebody in this forum doesn't want their tires (and replaced while they are relatively new). Must be a reason right? :)

But then, if you can get them cheap and you don't drive fast (esp in wet weather), these tires should be fine. Hey, it's your car and you should do whatever you wish :)

maybe compared to SO-3s or the like, but for OEM tires they are great. i probably wouldn't pay the $110/ea to replace them (esp when Pirelli P-Zero Rossos are $89/ea), but they're light-years ahead of the stockers on cars like the RSX-S and WRX, believe me.

I got my Kumho ECSTA All Season installed yesterday. I Love the tires, they're nice and quiet in high speed (above 60 mi), but below that it's still a bit noisy. Though, overall it's really good and gripy. I don't get a chance to try them out on wet road, so we'll see when winter comes.
