Door Handle lights

hello everyone,

i recently purchased plasmaglow door handle lights for my '03 P5, while reading the instructions it mentions connecting the LED's to the dome light (courtesy light) so that when the dome light comes on, so will the door handle lgihts. im great at following instructions, but me and experimenting can get dangerous...just curious as to where i can tap into the dome light wire (im assuming there must be a wire to tap into somewhere in the area of the doors for the dome light)

thanx in advance, im sure this is a stupid question, but id rather get a pro's advice rather than screw it all up

you can try your hand at tracing the wiring diagrams: http://www.floptical.net/mazda/

my guess is you can probably tap into it from either the door switch or via the extra fuse box in the lower left section of the driver's foot area.

thanx mogi, i just downloaded the wiring diagram, now i just need some spare time and ill start wiring it all up. thanx johnny for the pic to help illustrate the product. figured it would be a nice lil mod that isnt always on and is a lil bit different, plus the price wasnt horrible and it comes with everything u need for all 4 doors. thanx again everyone

bmws have this feature, how is it rice. i think it's nice to be able to see your door handle in the dark so you don't scratch up your paint fumble for the handle. i say go for it. let us know how it looks when you get finished

ill def let u know how it turns out, im gonna try and do some experimenting with wires tomorrow before work see if i can get the right wire to splice into...wish me luck (boom05)

i was goin to say yes, but my camera is crapped out, if i can get my webcam up and running, ill use that to take a pic or two...all that these kits (set of 4) are is a miniature strip of 3 or 4 LEDs in a row. oh and a red and black wire obviously coming off one end

isn't the door already open when the light turns on?

i would say if you have keyless entry to somehow wire it up so it turns on when you unlock the car and turns off with the dome light. that would be nice.

now that i think of it doesnt the dome light come on with the keyless entry?

Do they sell a kit for the interior door handles?
My passengers always complain they have a hard time finding the handles when they want to get out at night.(smash)
