Mine was working fine and now it does not, NOTHING has changed. I deleted all my messages again and now I will wait to see what happens when I get my next text but this is silly. I shouldn't have to go through all this to receive a text message in my car with our current technology. While I love my car, if I had known all these issues I would have gone with my close runner up the Rav4 limited.

I understand your issue with text.. as my iPhone isn't even compatible for this function.. but

had I seen the small overlap front crash test results of the RAV4 it would have immediately gone off the shopping list. CU doesn't currently recommend it due to that fact.

It's never worked for me, even on day one. I have an iPhone 5. I never bothered looking into it that deeply since I didn't care that much?

Everything else works perfectly: bluetooth, music, phone calls, syncing contacts, etc.

Mine worked the first day. Though it is more of a novelty for me. I had my wife text some filthy messages to me and my car read them aloud.

Any word of a firmware update to fix our Text/Email reader issues?? At some point, I'd think they either have to fix it, or replace it??

I would think they are waiting until the next IOS version is released. A guess, I hope they fix this. Just can believe it is not compatible with Apple stuff.

This may be one of those features I write off unless IOS 8 somehow addresses it.

I guess I should see how it works to see if I am really missing anything.

I'm on Android 4.4.2(HTC One-M8) a supposedly supported handset, but, it will read texts and emails for the first few days after pairing, then it stops working unless you delete the pairing and then re-pair it, but, I lose all my speed-dial settings when I do that.

Nearly 14% do have the text function working.

So can we compile a list of which phones work, my contract renews next year so I would like to buy a phone that works.

Samsung S3 doesn't work.
Just says download and then nothing.Upgrading a S5 next month.I wonder if the S5 works.I doubt it.

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and LG G2 on Verizon Wireless don't work. Both phones also recently received the Kit Kat Android update but it made no difference. I just get download message on the screen and then it failed.

Like I mentioned in my first post it's really hit or miss. When I bought my car I had a Galaxy S4 on 4.3 and the text message feature didn't work at all. At some point my phone was giving me trouble so I had it completely wiped with a factory reset and updated the software to 4.4.2, and the text message feature worked for about 2 weeks I think then I started getting the same old error message again.

I don't think there's any phone out there that is really guaranteed to work without problems.

Samsung S5 DOES work. My wife has one and she receives texr messages. My S4 also works, you just have to push the download button on screen.

Yes it does!
Decided to upgrade my S3 to an S5 last night.I just paired and had the wife send a text and it worked and also showed past texts.I hope it continues to work and not early like a few others have said.

Mine doesn't work for texting at all with the iPhone 4s. I mount my phone to the right of the steering wheel with a ProClip (www.proclipusa.com). It's very secure there and visible for extra music/GPS control.

Same here on my iPhone 5s. Notification, but not download or read.

To make up for the lacking software, I would like to mount my iPhone in a good position so I can see it too. Anyone mounted theirs and if so, where and with what?

Mine worked for 2 or 3 days maybe, then stopped working. Let us know if it's still working a week or two from now??

IOS 8 comes out on September 10th.. I guess we will see if that makes a difference on the text messaging issue.
