I've been lurking on this site and I have yet to decide what model to get.

I really want the manual or sports model because i think it can get a better mileage and cheaper than automatic but doesnt have the feature that touring does. What I like about the touring models are whatever sports model doesnt have.

I figured if i picked up a manual or sports model has anyone upgraded their system? Looking at crutchfield and seems like they dont have the necessary panels and harness yet if ever I bought an upgraded or double din navigation w/ bluetooth. Or has anyone with a sports/manual model upgraded or bought the stock navigation system?

I have the sports and added the home link mirror, the rear bumper guard, JVC KW-AV60BT and back up camera. The Jvc has some fitment issues because as you said, there is no install kit. However I talked to both Sosche and Metra and they said they should have an install kit in the next couple of months. I personally like the jvc over the standard 5.8" screen radio because it can do many more things.

how did you get it installed?

I did it. You can go to an insstaller who can probably do a better job. I will reinstall it when a kit comes out.
