Cylinder 3 misfire

CEL came on, misfire cylinder 3. Ngk g power plugs have 4k miles on them, brand spanking new NGK wires and BWD coil packs. Still throwing the code even after ECU reset. Also noticed there is a dark orangish resin inside the the hole that the wire boot connects to the plug. Any ideas what it could be or how to fix the problem?

Agree with the above poster...it sounds like you may have gotten a bad coil or wire. Sometimes the new ones don't last like they should.

With the new wires and coils how would it be possible to throw the same code twice? Even after the new gear bein put in

So, you were throwing the code, then you changed the coils, wires and plugs and you're still throwing the same code?

Plugs were swapped 4000 miles ago with NGK g powers. Then I threw the first misfire code, swapped coil packs to BWD coils and NGK wires. Then code came back after about a week and a half, so I swapped the plug only this time. Didn't reset ECU so light is still on.

what was the condition of the plugs? have you done a compression test? you can usually rent a tool from the local parts store

When I swapped the plugs it hand denso in, they were in decent shape. The only thing that concerns me is the hole where the wire boot goes into the top of the motor to the plug. It's got an orange resin inside and it won't come off. Not present in any of the other ones. How much is the tool, is it difficult to test, and what would it indicate? I pray it's not a cracked cylinder or something. And btw, do not have a blown head gasket or anything. Motor runs fine and smooth too.

If you switch the coil packs and the code moves to another cylinder it will tell you if its one of the coil packs. Also if you had a cracked cylinder you would know it
