Hey guys,

i'm looking at picking up either the 2WFM-AS or the 2WSS-AS models...

the SS (Spread Spectrum) version has a farther range for the pager alarm than the FM version...

does anyone have either? what are you thoughts on it? how is the remote starter?

TIA

I have the FM version. It's pretty cool. 2way is sweet, you never know when some d*** ***** c**** s**** a****l m******* is gonna mess up your car. I mean, not that it is a deterrent, but it warns you.

The FM has pretty decent range. I can usually page the car from where I work, eat, even at the movies. Comes with remote starter feature that is OK with manual transmission. Optional trunk release or up to 2 other devices. Blinking lights, neons, horns, whatever you want.

Overall a good purchase. Careful though, the unlocking is fidgety when it is cold outside, so you live in Canada, make sure they install it properly.

i have a 2 way FM one.... it goes pretty far... 1/4mile.... so its pretty much up to you if you want SS or not. i hear the SS works better when there are to many 'walls' or obstructions in the way.

For what it's worth, I have heard nothing but good things about Compustar alarms from owners. I was going to get one of them for my P5 but unfortunately none of the dealers local to my area carried them, even the dealers I got from talking to Compustar as vendors said they hadn't been carrying them (too expensive, didn't sell enough were some of the reasons I heard from dealers).

I ended up going with a Clifford Solaris. Have been happy with it, wish I had the two way system, but maybe in the future.

I got the SS, its awesome. The only complaint is that the remote is too big. Now the SS comes with a black colored remote, which I think looks better.

great alarm.....I think over 15 people in our club here in Toronto have them and we all have had good experiences with them.

go some place that has installed them before. my buddy installed mine (which he is a good installer, ive seen some of his work and thats why i had him do mine) but im having some troubles with mine right now. go to an authorized installer.
