College Football anyone?

Anybody into sports such as college football? On the eve of the NFL draft I was just wondering or is everyone gearheads? And being a gearhead doesn't make you a bad person.

You could say I'm a college football fan...

I hold season tickets at my alma madre (University of South Carolina) and fly up to Michigan most years to see U of M play MSU. I've been to the Rose bowl, Outback bowl, Orange bowl, and the Sugar Bowl so you might just say I am somewhat a fan ;)

Nice I'm a Holtz fan. He recurited Randy Moss and Bobby Howard my senior year in highschool to ND. And Quik I was born an hour south of Columbus and have always been bled scarlet and grey. But everyone thought I was a bangwagon jumper so I kept it low this past season.

So whose the better QB this year Palmer or Leftwich? Mind you I'm currently ranked in the top Marshall U. fans poll....hehe.

Hail to the champions. I'll be graduating in 5 weeks!

Sorry to have a short response but;

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Buckeyes!?*^???!!!

Congrats on your graduation! OSU is a great school.

The most ironic thing of OSU becoming national champions to me is that lowly old South Carolina (k) was the last to beat them in the Outback bowl before they went undefeated in their run to a national championship.

I remember that game. Was it a new years day game? And wasn't Steve Bellasari (sp?) back for the Buckeyes as QB after a suspension? Or was that the year before? Anyways I just met that guy the other night at a buddy's house...they both play for the Rams now. And Buckeye fans hate that guy. And since we're talking about the Cocks were you at the Marshall game a few years ago when Billy Malachevic kicked the game winning field goal to beat SC?

That's the game! It was an amazing game to be at. Very, Very exciting.

And yes, I remember Marshall beating my Gamecocks(sad2)

Buckeye fans and Marshall fans for that matter are some of the nicest fans I've ever come across. I've been to plenty of games involving those two teams and the fans have always been nothing but good sports whether they are kicking the crap out of my team or loosing. On the way home on the airplane after the Outback bowl I sat next to an OSU fan who had nothing but good things to say about the game they had just lost...I respect both clubs and fans of OSU and Marshall. Great programs and fans!

After a marshall game I tailgated with marshall fans and they fed me BBQ chicken! Now that's a good fan if you ask me:)

BTW Carson Palmer and Byron Leftwich are very similar in some respects. Both have an incredible amount of heart but have played under incredibly good systems. It's really hard to say if either will have an impact in the NFL. I guess if I had to pick one I'd take Leftwich only because of arm strength. The bengals could draft Jesus, Buddah, and Vishnu and still suck so it really doesn't matter!

Well the same goes for SC fans as well as Clemson. Clemson and SC fans are great "Southern Hospitality" fans. They are just out for a good time no matter the outcome....or who they are playing. As for Palmer I so glad he won the Heisman cause that thing is cursed and so are the Bungals. And I think Palmer only had 6 good games in his entire college carrer....but they were against great comp. too. I think Byron is the next or even better Chad Pennington. He'll sit out a year or so and "learn the system" and step in a make a huge impact....and turn out alot better than Palmer (pour guy is doomed from the start). I can't wait for the draft or this season to start....the Herd takes on Tenn and KState this year.....yikes! They had LSU scheduled but they backed out. How's SC look this year? Anyone going early in the draft?

The draft posed no real issue for USC this year because they lost the entire defense in 2001/02 to the draft (2nd best defense in the nation at the time). As far as the schedule all I can say is the SEC is brutal and in all honesty USC doesn't belong in it. Marshall is insane and I respect the fact that they schedule anyone who is willing to play them. Major balls on the part of the decision makers at Marshall. I expect marshall will continue to produce NFL players at the same rate as long as they keep scheduling that way.

Lou Holtz is an huge asset to USC but he hurts recruiting with his age. People want to come play for the guy but everybody is concerned with how long he will stay.

I'm all over Nebraska, it's where I'm from and who I'll always love. Living in Tennessee makes it kind of hard to follow what's going on up there. And before you make a crack about last season, just think back a couple of years.

I don't really watch pro-anything. In all sports, I'd rather watch the college level.

Buckeyes suck! Go BLUE!!!

From Toronto and Canadian but still love the NCAA game, best football out there. Travel to Michigan once a year to see a game usually.

I hope to heck the Bears draft Byron Leftwich with their pick, but they likely wont. Leftwich in a bears uniform would be awesome! (Im actually a Redskins fan, but a Bears fan since they drafted 2 Michigan guys the other year D. Terrell & A-Train)

I was an Eric Crouch fan since he was a WR and Newcomb was the QB. I like Nebraska because they have one of the richest college traditions in all of sports. Gotta respect a team for that. And Crouch winning the Heisman won me $400 too...that ain't bad niether!!

Im a huge buckeyes fan and went to the outback bowl when the played south carolina. man that was a great game even though the bucks lost, quite a comeback and a good end for bellisari even with the whole dui thing

With the 7th pick in the 2003 NFL draft the Jacksonville Jaguars select Byron Leftwich....and I become the newest Jags fan in the world.
