Carbon Hoods!!

Hey, can anyone tell me the weight saving of a carbon fiber hood. Cheers.

you wouldn't actually feel the weight difference in everyday driving. the difference isn't as noticeable as when you have someone in the passenger seat and when there is no one in the passenger seat.
i don't have a scale at home... has anyone weighed the weight of the stock hood?

stock hood = 40 lbs i think, and most cf hoods are what 11? so you would save about 30 lbs...

helps with weight distribution too as our cars are 60/40, maybe 59.9/40.1

wow 46lbs! no wonder it was so f-ing heavy when i had to carry the oem hood back up the stairs to my second floor apartment by myself.

thats pretty cool... if my VIS hood weights 15lbs (i'm just guessing cause they all seem to be around 11lbs - 15lbs range) then i am lighter by 30lbs! not too bad....

Want better performance? Get lightweight steet wheels like Center Lines. You'll get a more comfortable ride, faster acceceleration, decreased stopping distance and better handling on rough roads. CF hoods looks cool but by it self it will offer no performance gain. I want a VIS CF hood

try contacting Chris of SPD racing for a VIS hood. his screen hame is FC3sboy or something like that. i have a VIS hood and it is great i think, yes there is not performance gain but i can't afford new wheels.
