Brakes.

:
Mazdaspeed Protege
Hey quick questions guys...the dealership is closed today so I figured I shoot it on here real fast...

My brother had a P5 and recently sold it but has brand new brakes for it, will they fit on my MSP? I thought they would, but I just wanna make sure, it sucks to find out they don't "Exactly" fit a week later when its wrapped around a tree...:)

Thanks guys. and girls.

Go to Autozone's web site and look up the part numbers. I seem to remember going through this once already but I don't remember what the outcome was. (dunno)

If I remember correctly, the MSP has slightly larger disc brakes than the ES/P5. I don't think they'll work. PM Ken @ Protegegarage and he might have the answer for ya.

Alright new questions, since the dealership is a little on the expensive side for brakes (109.85 for the front/82.01 for the back + 150.00 to have them do it, which I am not, just thought I'd add that in), does anyone know where to get cheaper brakes? Autozone is convinced that the MSP takes the same as the protege brakes, I told him he was wrong and he got mad at me and hung up...so thats good haha, murrays wasn't much better...

I've ordered several things for my and my dads vehicles and had nothing but good luck with them.

Do you by any chance still have those P5 brakes? I need new rotors and wanted to keep OEM ones on, but like you said the dealership is a ripoff on prices. Also, there is a guy on this forum, Jeff@Tri-Point, that gave me pretty good prices on brakes. Try PM'ing him.

Well I just gave in and bought them, they will be there in 2 days and im close to running on metal so I don't have time to track them down this time, maybe next time...anyone notice that Sterling Mazda has just disappeared? I called the one on allen road and then the one in sterling heights, both are gone I guess...so Thayer down in Monroe will have to do, kinda sucks though...they were right down the street. Anyway, he still does have those pads, its the fronts only though.

I noticed that Sterling disappeared about a month ago, I posted about it, but didn't realize that the one in Sterling Heights was gone too. Ralph Thayer or Sesi are the closest to the downriver people. Glad to hear you got them changed out though.

Not sure if you ever really answered my question, but if you still have those P5 rotors I would be interested in buying those off of you.

I never said I had the rotors, just the brake pads...
