brake pad issue

:
MP5, 2002, classic red
hey whats guys. im looking for hawk HPS pads for the front of my 02 MP5
and they dont have it on tirerack. so i go to the hawk website and look at the part number for the front pads and it was HB211F.606
i take that number and go to Pep Boys and they tell me that those are the wrong pads for my car. they said that it was for the protege not the hatch.
does anyone know if this makes a difference or not.
any info will help.
thanks

Like they actually sell Hawk pads & would know Hawk part numbers? That would be a surprise.

The sedan and hatch have the same pads. Pep Boys.. what a bunch of dousches.

yea seriousness. i got the front and rear HPS pads off protegegarage.com
and i think im gunna go for the KVR cross drilled rotors for the front

Since I just installed these a few weeks ago on my 2003.5 Pr5, I can tell you what is stamped on to the ends of the boxes...

Front = Hawk HPS HB211F.606 - D637 - HPS compound (000-03-6111-H0)

Back = Hawk HPS HB436F.535 - D892

PS, so far, so impressed. New pads are quite agressive, stopping in the snow was a tad frightening. Just need to 'eaaaasssse on to the brakes now'

I've been using Hawk HP Plus pads for a few months now and they are amazing. Stops like a son of a gun. Only problem wiuth them is that they squeak below 40 kmph.

By the way, why are you only putting them on the front? Change them all out.
