Boostin Prob PLEASE HELP!!!!

Starter isn't to bad to get to. Don't have to take it out. Just check. There should be three wires if my memory serves me correctly. Positive, negative and neutral switch. Been a month since I took the motor out.

What's the differents between ssafc and safc

It's like the difference between coke and sprite. They are very different but in the end they do the same thing. In this case, they both control your air/fuel ratio. The Split Second Air Fuel Controller (SSAFC, get it?) is just a box with some wires. It requires a laptop or pc to tune it. The Apexi Super AirFlow Converter (SAFC) is a more full function unit with its own screen (which means you can tune on the fly), and can supposedly cure the idling/stalling problems associated with installing a blow-off valve.

The benefit of using the ssafc is that a lot of people on this site use it, so if you have any questions about it someone around here could probably help you out with it. With the Apexi, I don't think I've heard of anyone using that on an MSP so I don't know how well it works on our cars.

Make sense to you?

hey man, my bad for not callin you back the other day...i completely forgot lol
did you still need to talk about something or you got it figured out?

its all good man, still need to ask few question bout the software... are u free sometime this week? like i could really use the help tuning my beastly protege... and if ur there to help me, i can learn how to use the software and get all my questions answered...
i can drive to you if need be..

yea im free all week, im in fayetteville though so im not sure if you would want to drive all the way out here

pretty much when your tuning, you have your laptop synced with your ssafc, you get ready for a tuning session, just get on a straightaway that you know cops arent on and hit the record button, then do a pull in one gear (3rd is normally the best one) then stop recording
go back look at the recordings and see where you need to add/subtract fuel...its been a while since ive done it so i may have to do a tuning session tommorrow on my car so i can help you out more lol

Yea it makes pretty good sense thanks

Many people have said that the SAFC does not work well with our cars. I believe the SAFC I will work (but there isn't much support for it, and its quite old) The SAFC II just doesn't work well at all for this car, I'm not sure of the reasoning behind it, that's just what people have said.

so whats the census on this issue? anyone have any definative answers to whats helped them out? It seems that all MSP's have this dreaded issue and its a PLAGUE!!!

I too have it and I am leaning towards MAF or maybe knock sensor...

It seems that once a week a similar thread gets started about this.

I think someone needs to big time investigation as in testing fuel pressure. checking the voltage or resistance of the MAF under load, check the knock sensor etc. Thats the only way this is going to be be solved

In the mean time this PLAGUE sucks... Its seriously making me regret purchasing the car.(confused)
