blown engine

Those are just break in pieces of the block. It's ok to lose those. They're like the car's baby teeth.

LOL, sorry but that was hillarious! Plus it helps to lighten the mood!

So screaming what has mazda said about the vehicle? Will they be covering this or just getting you a new car altogether?

I would love for you to offer up some pics of the car and the damage in order for us to compile this information. I am very curious as to what this dealer / Mazda is going to do?

so far im still waiting on the wrecker to get here but i do have some pics of the car. before the engine blew.

lol i like how ppl can say the motors good for 400hp when no one has made it above 350 yet haha. id like to hear a explination of why the motor blew from some of the people that claim these motors are forged from the factory haha

well i got some pictures but all they really show is the oily mess cant see the hole in the block. and i got some of it getting hauled off. but i got a rental car and everything is under warrarnty they are replacing the engine turbo and reflashing the system with the updates that i was supposed to get today. its going to take about 2 weeks. oh yea and road side took 3 hours to get there. well i could look at it this way lol since it did it on my b day maybe it was trying to give me a rod lol.

it didnt let me upload some of the other pictures i have it only let me upload those 4 i got about 8 total

Damn, sucks to hear. Hopefully they take care of you properly and getting your car running back to its old self.

oh believe me i ripped on mine daily it got dogged but i tried not to dog it to hard but they are taking car of me i got a rental its a mazda 6 lol

the car is ment to be driven hard! y would they make it if it wasnt! it should hold at the very least stock power levels! what were they thinking that we all would drive these like granny cars! i dont think so! im thinkin there is a bigger problem here! i cant keep track how many people have had bad problems on stock motors! but o well what can u do

its mazda, thats why

look at the MSP's reliability levels....the speed3 believe it or not improved on the MSP's unreliability by a LOT, but that still doesnt make it reliable

dont let that discourage you ms3077, as long as you dont void your warranty you will be fine

people like to mod the car then complain when it breaks, but the car is perfectly fine stock because you have the ability to get it all fixed

Yeah sure but I don't want to deal with the car breaking period.

About keeping it stock - I'm not gonna to go without an intake, mm, or short shifter w/ bushings. It this is going to void my warranty then that will be the day It goes bye bye..

Not going with a MS CAI either - I don't have 7k set aside for a new motor in the event hydrolock takes place.

It doesn't matter where you run to, it's the same when it comes to warranty coverage. Don't think Toyota, Subaru or Honda etc. would be any different. If you mod and they can void a part or your whole warranty, they would. Also don't believe that you can just mod and not have possible issues. Or that there's some magic car that would let you mod to your heart's desire without the possibility of consequences. There is no such thing.

It has been said before, if you want to have the least possible mechanical and warranty issues, DON'T MOD PERIOD!!

The key is finding a good dealer.

Mazda tends to be especially anal when it comes to mods it seems.
The thing is the MS3 has a few critical weaknesses that should have been dealt with from the factory (Motor Mount/ shifter/ intake)

I agree with the fact if you start doing pretty major mods to the car something might and probably will go wrong eventually and your warranty should be voided for those particular issues.

What I'm basically trying to say is that if this car can't handle very simple "bolt on's" In my opinion it's not built right and I don't want anything more to do with it.

In the event I did get rid of my MS3 I would buy a car that I wouldn't mod; like a WRX STI / EVO/ S2000/ BWM 135i.
