blacked out lights

That's great that you will be taking pics to update the how-to!

I used some sandpaper to rough 'em up and then wiped them down before painting. A couple of guys took an extra step and primered them before painting.

My original sealant worked fine as well. I was prepared to take them off though and silicone if I had to.

Awesome, thanks!
For some reason, I'm hesitant about baking car parts. I may get brave enough one day to actually do it, provided that I have an extra set of head/tail lights!

The p5 uses two separate lights. if you look at that first link that you posted, you can see there is space for only one bulb, but the real p5 lights have 2 spaces.

Ok sounds fantastic. But I bought the my P5and the previous owner screwed bulb replacement and there is melted plastic damage and no way for bulbs to seal. I want new headlights but want ones that have the same dual bulbs (High & Low) placement but are blacked out. Any ideas where to get them....

P.S. Just found this on blackin out with nice pics.

If you'll be ordering new lights, i'ma call dibs on the melted stock ones. I'm still contemplating an HID projector setup

You bet. Just as soon as I can find where to get a set of OEM other than from the dealer. I'll rip the bumper and replace just as soon as I get them in. It is one of these things the wife is complaining about. Headlights not straight, she can't drive at night. LOL I got no prob but if she wants they replaced I can't help it if it is going to cost a little. R/R tail light is cracked so I'm ordering those also.

Im doing mine tomorrow and was wondering if anyone has used gloss black? and if so how did it turn out?

WOW! This was an easy mod! I did mine today and it only took around 4 hours or so. I used black caliper paint since I am painting the calipers tomorrow and, they look great.

I will post pics soon! I am painting mp caliper black on the outside pars and red on the inside part so I will also post them on the how to thred for calipers.

THANKS FOR ALL OF THE GREAT INFO GUYS! I think I cought the mod bug!
