August 1st, I got this email from K&N re: CAI for MSP:

"Dear James,

We are currently developing Typhoon Kits for quite a few new vehicles. I don't know if your vehicle is going to be one of the ones released for sure, but I beleive it will. Unfortunately I have no release date yet. Please check back in 60-90 day's for a possible update. Also you can check our web site at http://www.knfilters.com/ it is updated every Monday with new products.

Thanks for writing,

Tony Yorkman
Technical Support
K&N Engineering"

The say they have one for the 03 pro, it list engine type as 2.0 L4 F/I, I don't think that means Forced induction but I don't know, anybody...By the way that kit is 400 bones, alot for a CAI.

Also: **** you forum nazi. You could have just not answered rather than be an ass. I'm sick of all the bitching that goes on here. A search would have been good, other than this person wants to know the best RIGHT NOW, not a month ago, or two months, etc depending on how old the original topic is.

I'm going to have to say Injen black finished CAI cause it's pretty. ;)

i love my injen cai :D for $219 shipped, a very good deal. i'd like to see how the k&n typhoon will do as it's supposed to give better gains but cost around $350. the one for a regular protege will not work, it must be specific for our car.

K&N typhoon CAI's have been known to be pricey...........but they also are known for the greatest gains.
i think the only competitor to the typhoon will be the V2 by AEM (if they ever release it for MSP).

none of the other intakes for regular proteges and MP3's would work, simply because on our cars CAI's have to connect directly to the turbo, plus there has to be a way for a BPV to vent.

tomorrow (monday) i will be calling K&N, since last week they told me that CAI will be ready this week. So i'll post as soon as i find out. HEY MODS! CAN I START A NEW THREAD? or will everyone flame me for it.

When i get my intake i will also get dyno readings for 2nd 3rd and 4th gears.

Dr.Sound - Please keep us updated on your opinions of the Typhoon. I was looking to get one of these for my P5. I found one for $420, a bit pricey but if it's worth it then I'll go for it. If you do post a new thread about it make sure you put Typhoon in the subject, I'm very interested in this. Thanks a lot! :D

P.S.
Love your sig w/the page turning two spicys, very nice! :D
