I wanna relocate my battery, and i was wondering if its a big project, or a simple process. Any special tools?

i think mrgasket makes a battery relocator, comes in a kit with everything you need. its like 60-80 bucks. i plan on doing it eventually

Battery relocation is predy simple. If you do go to the track you will have to have a few saftey items to go along with it.
If you are a MP5, you will need a metal fully enclosed box.Next, you will need a battery disconnect switch.

For the best bang, order just the Taylor 48100 aluminum box.Depending on where you get it from, you'll spend around $80.Then go to a welding supply place and buy 15-18ft of 0 gauge wire.Typically you should expect to pay $1-$1.50 a foot there. For the kill switch, I would run the Taylor 4 pole switch(part number 1033).They are around $30.

Other than that you it's just time.

Go to summitracing.com

they see those kit there

give you a better weight distrpution, esp. on underpower fwd car

If you race at a track and relocate the battery I believe you have to install a kill switch on the outside of the car that kills all power instantly from the battery. Not 100% sure on that though. Also has to be in a certified sealed steal box vented to the outside of the car. The box must also be solidly secured to the car. You don't want battery fumes in the car.

thats if your rocking a wetcell battery, it doesn't need to be vented if its drycell.

If your concerned about weight, and dont have some stupid system to drive, get a minibattery.

Venting depends on the rules at the track. If you race check with the regulations before you buy.
