good for you........ to alot of people my spoiler is rice........ do i care.....no............ in less then 2 weeks i will have a turbo and the w.w. carbon fiber hood.......... is that rice since all the honda's go with turbo's and c.f. hoods??????? i dont think so........ i hate this rice calling s***!!!!!!! except for the threads that say rice.... most of them are funny and stupid(the cars that is) but to each his own!!!!!!!!

I hate the look of the stock auto shifter on the MP5 it looks so gay the way it is all big, fake-leather looking, wide and skinny on the bottom, and plain. I definitely want to get an aftermarket auto shifter probably from obx or razo. I was just wondering when I get it I don't want it to sit all high and I don't want to cut the metal shaft to lower it. But can I lower it if I cut that plastic thing that is on the bottom of our stock shifters? and if I do and install my aftermarket shifter how do I make it stay in a fixed position I don't want it to be loose or to go up and down uncontrollably when I grab it. I also plan to put a boot on it because I think it will look stupid w/o one. About the ricey issue on it I don't think it's ricey at all, any thing is better than that piece of s*** shifter I have to use. The only possible way that it could be ricey is if you install a tach w/ a shift light and put in a fake "clutch" and tell everyone you have a stick. I told my friends about what I plan to do and they said it's pretty cool because they also think the stock shifter sucks balls. I also want to attend shows sometime in the future and I think that this is also a good way to get points with the judges since it is something different.

I also found pics of the obx shifter installed on some guy's dogde avenger on cardomain with a boot and it looks pretty cool. It also looks very clean I also plan on a similar set up when I get my shifter and boot but before I want to learn how to set it up right.

: Gasps: How on earth did you do that? That looks fantastic! I have an '03 Protege and I have tried for the love of God to get that auto shift knob off and make mine look standard. I have to ask..would you be able to give me the instructions on how to make mine look as nice as yours?

Momo automatic shifter
Momo shift boot
Momo ebrake handle
Momo ebrake boot
Mazda manual trim piece (goes around the inner part of the shift boot)

I know I bumped such an old post..I used to be on here a while back and then I forgot and I had to resign up..and then I got to thinking how I wanted to make my automatic protege look like my standard 3 instead of buying another protege, so I thought I would ask everyone here. At first I thought everyone would think that making an auto look manual would be gay. But as I can see a lot of people have done the same thing. Sorry about bringing back history.

OK i have a question i just read this whole thread and i still dont see the answer i am looking for . Is this possible to do with a auto sport shifter ? if so what parts do i need bc that is goin to be my new project . I love the way all of yours looks tho .

since this is the automatic thread...ive got a question. my tranny chirps sometimes when it downshifts, can anybody explain that?? its startin to get louder, and im worried that somethin might be wrong with it

My belt chirps when it shifts up but not all the time.... I have read somewhere that the on the cars with a MTX it was a spring loaded bolt on the exhaust... now I havn't tried it on my car yet to see if its the same thing.

i just got my car back from the shop and the tranny was flushed, and it hasnt made that sound in awhile....now to reset the ecu. ive got almost no pickup in this car anymore

yo wats going guy, im a new owner to a protege and b4 i even drove it, i changed my shift knob. now im wondering what kida boots do i have to get or is there a uniersal kind i can get?
