ATP Turbo WGA Too Long??

I recently had the wastegate actuator on my 2003.5 go out. And after plenty of research on this wonderful forum I bought the ATP Turbo replacement part. But for some reason it doesn't match the length of my stock part. Has anyone else run into this issue?

I emailed ATP Turbo and they assumed that I had an after-market part on the car, which it is not, because I bought the car new and have never touched it.

Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions?

See the attached photo for the my stock part and the ATP part side by side.

Do you have a boost gauge? If so, how much were you boosting with the old one? maybe ATP sent the wrong one?

X2 on the boost gauge idea. can you pull the rod out from the one that was in your car? i wonder if its just stuck in that position. i replaced my wg with the atp one and had no issues but did not compare as you did so not sure if there was any difference.

it's fine dude. it's the right one. to install it you have to push the diaphragm in some. but the little bracket that holds the rod on w/ a clip does move a bit.

just install it. it's correct.

Unfortunately, I don't have a boost gage, otherwise I wouldn't be as hesitant to install the ATP pary since then I would know if it is over or under boosting.

Thanks for the input guys, if anyone else has run into this issue before I'd appreciate hearing about it.

help!

ya ya i need to know what wga to get? mods are fmic, cai, +1 colder plugs, xs high perf. boost controller at 9lbs. boost gauge exc.. but it will surge between 8lbs and 12lbs. and will consistanly stay at 8lbs at wot. not sure what the problem is. i was gonna start with a new WGA just not sure which one is best for my application. 03.5msp

2 things:

1, please don't threadjack, its rude

2, use the search, as WGAs have been discussed to death here...
