Anyone had the stock battery give up ?

:
06 LS MS6
07 BM GT (shell has been struck from the roll)
Have an 07 GT and If I screw around in the driveway with the radio on for even a little while, No cranky

Time for a new battery. only 3 years old

not a tragedy, but hell its not in AZ, not in manitoba

mine had a hard time cranking over this morning in the cold. cheap bastards at mazda

Mine has been having some trouble now that it's cold.. 2007 as well. If it gets below 0 soon I'm sure it won't be able to crank over to start.

mine gave up on me. had to replace it. its not even that cold here in texas, so im sure it was just a fluke. my car was an 08 with 24k miles.

Got an 07 and it's been getting cold... No problems here in cleveland. I'll keep ya posted though.

mine is an 07 and I am noticing that it is having a hard time wanting to crank......after this winter i will be replacing....

Just replaced mine, 08 with 9k on the odo. Took it Mazda and they tried blaming it on my remote starter/alarm. I then took it to my own mechanic and left it with him for three days so he could test the battery to see if there was an abnormal draw on the battery while the car was off. He concluded that the battery was bad, I replaced the battery and three weeks later the car starts strong even sitting for weekends at a time.

FYI, the walmart MAXX 24FS (not S, the FS) is a very good fit. the 35s is listed, but has smaller numbers, and same price

$75 bux

remove the +12 lead closest to the fender from the terminal, and Keep your charger clipped to it. that will allow the terminal enough play to get the frickin battery outta the tray and also save all the radio presets and ecu setting

the +12 terminal has a wacky T bolt clamp, but easy to get to and works well

the neg terminal folds back and tucks under the fender. I had some trouble getting the neg to clamp correctly on reinstall YMMV

Use good body mechanix, awkward lift

and remove the strap handle BEFORE you set it down in the tray, at least the one near the firewall

Make sure you're checking the water level in the battery. ("Maintenance-free" battery is a misnomer.) The little magic eye is helpful, but it only shows the water level in one of the cells. You're better off checking each one.

07 MS3 with 70 000km. My battery died last winter a couple of times. It then worked all through the summer and died again this winter. I replaced it with a redtop Optima (34R). I haven't had an issue since.

Basically quoting myself from another thread.

I've had to replace my battery twice already. Both had bad cells and would not crank if I didn't drive the car every day. As soon as I skip a day, it'd be dead. Good thing I have a spare vehicle, or I'd be screwed.

Mine died in the first year. Replaced it with a Red Top Optima. Still kept dieing. Then realized it was my Dashhawk and hard-wired RD that was sucking the life right out of it. I don't drive it alot, so within a week the battery would be dead. Once all accessories are unplugged, it will start even after being parked for a month or more.

My battery is starting to show signs of its impending death now that winter and cold temps have arrived.
I'll probably go with the Optima unless I can get the battery replaced under warranty.

coming up on 3 yrs in march, no probs yet, but it is warm sunny FLA. count yer blessings if you have to replace the factory batt at 3 yrs. you want to know true battery Hell? try an 850 BMW, w/ 2 monster-sized batts in the trunk. pain in the ass to install, super-pricey, and you must have a battery tender or they'll go flat in 2 wks time. hell of a draw on the system, i guess...
