Any photographers in here?

I thought about the Zeiss, but my budget is definitely not that big. I think it depends on what I wind up doing. Right now I'm just a hobbyist, so I'm planning on sticking with Sony.

Does Rokinnon make anything for Sony? I've seen a few peeps w/ their 35 F1.4 and it's nice. It's half the price of a Canon 1.4 unit but it's all manual focus.

There's a 35 and an 85mm both 1.4. Not sure how I feel about the all manual. I'm also wondering why the 85 f/1.4 is half the price of the 35. I'm leaning towards an 85 for the extra range if I ever have an opportunity to shoot a concert again. I had a lot of fun the last time I did.

Thoughts on the images? Where can i improve?

those both have a weird plastic feel to them. did you do a ton of noise reduction? I'd scale it back some.

first attempt at panoramic's... what do you guys think, what needs improving if any?

I did a photo shoot of my pregnant wife at a quiet beach a couple weekends ago. Most the shots are pretty personal, but this one has gotten some nice acclaim so with her permission I thought I'd share.

thoughts on doing long exposure shots?.. ill be messing with long exposure shots here pretty soon, just wanted to see if y'all had some pointers
thanks

Depends on what you're shooting. Always use a tripod and remote/timed shutter release. If you're shooting during daylight hours a neutral density filter can come in handy stopping the image down further.

idk what ill be shooting yet, but i know ill be doing a mixture of daytime/night time long exposures... I've done my research and feel a 10 stop would be good for the daytime... I already have a tripod and the remote is in route will be here August 15th... What do you guys think so far as going in the right direction with what I have to do the long exposures?

I'm using a Nikon D40 body also if that makes a difference, also if you know of a good place to buy filters/stops let me know thanks

ND110 is a good filter! Really good for long exposure water shots! Also for clouds but for me personally,I like it for water! www.bhphotovideo.com or www.2filters.com

Here is a pic my father took with a B+H fliter! It's a B+W ND3.0 filter. It's a neutral Density filter that allows you to slow down your shutter speed by 10 stops

Maybe but not really sure! Its a pretty dark filter! The ND110 will take a bit to get use to! I'm no expert on this stuff, just learning tips & tricks from my father! Fairly new to photography myself!

Depends on the light. The vast majority of my long exposure shots have been on still subjects. As far as your previous post and what you have to do: be patient. Long exposure shooting requires some trial and error getting camera settings dialed in.
