An option for those looking for a switchblade remote keyfob

Another thing, that I don't really have much faith in is the mounting spot for the ring for key ring attachment. It is just 2 slots in the end of the plastic shell. The middle part that keeps the ring in place seems breakable which much bad folding action of putting it in & taking it out of your pocket. Also the way it snaps together is what keeps the ring from coming out of the shell by the force of the keys being bent to go in pocket, popping that end of the shell apart. I'm not attaching other keys on mine.

I've had mine attached to my keyring since I got it, and it's been just fine so far. You have to use a really small metal ring (that you then attach to a keyring), I think I mentioned that I picked one up at a craft shop for $2.00 (actually a whole bag of them). You're right, the little plastic tab could break off at some point, but I'm willing to take the risk for the sake of convenience. I should also mention that I've never had the shell pop apart, so far it's been totally solid.

is it just because its coming from overseas that this problem is occurring... or are they just slow?

from the ups website having entered the tracking number:

I've gotten the exact same response... tried yesterday, was hoping it would work today.. no luck. I am assuming (seeing as other members have gotten em) that it'll just show up one of these days. lol I won't start to worry til middle of next week...

good news, they're here.

So, anybody want that extra fob? New battery is already installed. I'll try to ship tomorrow.
I could be interested in a 3rd fob to cut the panic button off of & another undrilled shell..............

i got a switchblade key... the open trunk feature activates the alarm but otherwise works good

got it on ebay

An OEM key? There was a whole thread about that, and all of the guys who tried different keys (including me) couldn't get it to work. If you did, I would be very interested in the details!

its not an oem looking one, resemble the vdub key.

looks nice but i doubt i'll actually use it daily

oh, just an FYI, it is possible to put the button cover on the circuit board upside down. LOL. thankfully the unlock button still stays the same so turning the alarm off in a panic works..

switch shells were paid for prior to purchase. I'm not "vending" them, just defering shipping costs.

I would be willing to organize a group buy for these things. It would have to be enough of them to make it worth effort. If I bought 10 I could ship them out for $30 even. That is $11.20 saved. If we get more I can try to do for less.

Who is in? We need 9 more people.

I'd shoot for 5... getting 10 at a time is gonna be a tough battle. I only know of 2 or 3 that are still interested now that we did our 5. I asked for 30, most of the members gave me a lil extra. it'll end up costing me a little bit between packing and reshipping, but my cost is still below the cost of ordering one myself. Everybody else saved $8-10 or so.
