Do you? If so how?
No, I don't. Neither do you, so neither of us can make an analysis of the current situation in Iraq.

Just out of curiosity what is this "Multi-Million dollar company" that you run called? Got a link?
Don't worry about it. I've got nothing to prove. Plus I don't like to brag too much.

I'll PM ya what I do if you'd like.

I think all this thread proves is none of us our right. We all challenge eachothers sources and laugh at whose more wrong. We're all playing into the hands of the people we hate. Divide and Conquer. I hope ALL of you vote... I'd be happy if 75% of Americans hit the voting boths at EVERY election. I think voting shold be mandated.

Too late...you already did. Are you retracting your statements now?

Telling some person what you do is not bragging. Yea..PM me..I am curious.

Bottom line is this. 4 years in and over 3000 Americans dead and a raging civil war now goes on with no good plan for an exit or a win. I don't call that success by ANY means.

Also remember that Iraq was not a hot-bed for terrorists before we went there. One of the benefits of running a military state is that anytime jokers like that show up, you can make them disappear. Saddam was very good at making sure that people did not step out of line. Now that he is out of the picture, terrorists from across the Middle East are flocking there to exploit its weakness.

Bottom line, Iraqis are worse off now than before we set foot there, particularly for the hundreds of thousands that are dead. I know that we did not kill them, but we created that situation. If you step in s***, do you blame the dog or the owner that didn't clean it up...

I've actually agreed with some fellow forum members on several things even though we are on different sides of the fence. I think you're right about voting in that its every citizens civic duty to do so but I don't think it should be mandatory. People should vote because they are compelled to do so and because they care not because they are forced too. One things for sure, if you don't vote and participate in the political process when you have the opportunity to, then you have no good reason to complain about the current state of affairs. Thats just my opinion.

I can't totally argue with you on this but but I must point out that I think a majority of the secterian violence is egged on by Al Qaeda. I'm willing to put money on them being behind the latest mosque bombing thats helped fuel this current wave of violence. They do not want an Iraqi democracy and are willing to do anything to make sure it does not stand. I think if they keep it up, they will bring the wrath of the people upon themselves. Eventually the Iraqi people are going to have to realize who the true enemy is.

How do we stop them? Thats the Million dollar question. Frankly I think the answer lies far more in the hands of the Iraqis themselves and their new govt than it does with anything we do. Heres hoping they can get their act together (with help from us) and our troops can come home. I think thats something we can all agree on.

I really don't see why we shouldn't make it mandatory. Then there is no fear in change since we know whats being changed. I think we should eliminate all this campaign noise, get rid of the popularity contest.

Agreed, which is why it is so disheartening that there is soooooo much corruption within the Iraqi police...

Iraq is quite simply not cut out for any sort of democracy. They cant handle it.

You don't know how much it pains me to say this especially since I believe in the human spirit and in the basic human desire to just live a decent life but I think this might just be the case.

I knew a "western style" democracy was probably out the question but I was hoping that with our help they could fashion their own Democracy that would work for them and the sensitive to their need and traditions but its seems like all their govt. officials are utterly incapable of getting the job done.

I will say this, if the Iraqi parliment goes on that 2 month vacation they have planned without getting things such a an "oil revenue sharing" bill passed among other things, that will be the last straw for me because it will demonstrate that they don't give a crap. And if they don't even care, then why should we?

I really am holding out hope that they can get it done though. I don't want our actions there to be in vain.

Where?

READING COMPREHENSION > YOU

I said I have spoken with people who are actually over there, and what they told me. They don't even have an overall idea of what's going on over there, so I can't just assume that just because his missions are going well that we are winning.

I simply don't have the info to make an educated analysis.
I can't believe either side of the media, and there are no credible sources in the political system to give us info. So really none of us actually even have a effen clue what is going on over there.

I strongly disagree. I think people uneducated on politics, current events, foreign policy, and the lot should not vote at all.

I believe Hilary will win this election simply because women, uneducated about the politcal system, will vote even though they haven't before, and they'll vote for her just because she's a woman and nothing else.
