Do you the wideband option on your V2? Do you have the orange wires on your unit hooked up? Cause your settings on your aux input tells me you dont and the only thing we can see is how much boost your running at what rpm...which doesn't tell us much to give you input on the tune.

the V2 is the version WITH the datalogging inputs, either he's got the V1, or he doesn't have the wideband hooked up to the AFC

lol oh that what those orange was for :). well then no the wideband is not hooked up to the datalog cables on the afc. what goes where then, im might jump on that inthe morning.

the wideband should have an output, you'll have to calibrate the AFC to read the output of that wire (what voltages translate to what AFRs) so it can read it. without that info datalogged, no help can really be given on your map.

ok i get it but does it matter which orange/color wire i connect it to on the afc?.. also just lil more info i have the innnovate wideband (xd-16) and it came with the LC-1 controller, serial port at the end.

Ya you need to hook those up to make datalogging worth while. Right now we can't help you. If you go back about 20 pages on this thread, you'll find the info. I forget exactly but basically you only need to use one of the orange wires and tap into your widebands .5volt wire I think. Once you do this...change the settings in "aux input". Go to aux A for example and change the coefficents from 0 and 1 to 10 and 2.

thank you. i would do this right now :) but living in a ghetto apartment complex, im not gonna get out my flash light and wire it up ;)

ok so i wired the brown cable from my wideband to the orange/black on the ssafc. here are a few runs i did. i really couldnt get any long straights at this moment but hope this is enough info for someone. if not just keep telling me :). thanks again.

Ok...please confirm which model AFC you have.

Cause right now, your settings are all off. Example, your running your map on "gauge pressure" for one thing and your over pressure is set to come on starting 11.1psi. The other weird thing is your wideband reading is holding a flat 10afr...but I can't comment on this until you confirm which AFC you have and wait until you fix your settings.

I suggest you reload that first map you had...but always double check all your settings before writing to ecu. If your V1 or V2 stay with vacuum pressure and set your overpressure between -1vac to 1.1 psi.

***edit just reload this one you gave us and I already changed the coeficents for you.

the model is a new one i just got from protegegarage, its the ssafc v2. brand new as of april. ok will load that map again in a bit.

Are there any pre-made maps for the turbo protege5 on the stock ecu? I know that there are some people that have done it with the SSAFC but are there any maps available?

I need to review this entire thread and learn a thing or two because I will be getting a SSAFC here pretty soon. When you install the SSAFC, is the superstock map ready to be used or is there something that needs to be done first?

if you get it from PG, the stock supermap is preloaded on there, it wouldn't hurt to read the map onto a fresh/new customer file just to double check to make sure it was on there, and check the settings, but should be all set, and just add the coefficients for the wideband if your going to datalog, which I would think you would be.

well I just did a little tuning yesterday, I got the WOT full boost set up ok, I did notice though that when I have the laptop hooked up, the afr's are slightly higher than when it is not, and sometimes on my log maps there is a random dropped in everything (the lines) which makes me think, since I can't feel anything in the car, that it is electrical.. so my plan is to solder the wires, and I know I should have done that first, but I didn't really have time when I did the install... and hopefully that will also help with the drop in afr ratio after disconnecting the comp. because I tune it great, then I disconnect and do a test, and it's pretty much always a little richer, I tune conservatively, like around 11.5ish and drop down to 11 by 6k-6.5k rpm, just wondering if anyone else has had this issue ever..

also I noticed that when I did a disk compact (an option under the File section of R4 software, I made a copy of the file before doing it,) but it deletes all the extra crap from rewriting all the maps and stuff, but anyways I noticed a GREAT improvement of idle after that, I think the clean load of the tuned map really helped it out, so I suggest everyone to try this if they have not done so already..

I just need to tune for the low boost throughout the rpm band because I notice like on highway driving or daily driving when I don't go full boost, I just stay around 2-5psi before shifting, that the afr is craaazzyy rich, and I stumble and hit fuel cut sometimes, which I am guessing is because no one has ever really tuned for the lower psi for the full rpm band, at least on the stock supermap, so that might be some of the hesitation and stumbling and complete crappy driving that some people have experienced, once I get some time I will do that and load the map, I'm working on tuning it around 75-80* outside... with an upgraded smic, then I get my FMIC at the end of this week and have to get the install done on that, then see how the tune works for that lol

It seems the only time my afc has worked exactly the way I think it should is when the car is fully warmed up, driving on the highway in 5th gear and I have 3 passengers with me. It will flawlessly switch over at whatever pressure I have set and runs great with the supermap which otherwise seems not to do much and the car ends up really lean in boost.
I've only had the change to test this twice and both times the car ran great.

Does this sound like some odd fluke or am I missing something?

Everytime I think I've figured something out with tuning or this afc I end up realizing I really don't know what I'm doing here.

I have some recordings on a slight variation of the supermap but my afrs are horrible I can't keep my foot on the gas or it goes too lean so I have to let off which makes it hard to really see whats going on.

edit:I had this on my computer, it is not the slight variation on the supermap I mentioned above. It is a frustrated attempt at trying to figure out whats going on with my car. No real tuning, just added fuel everywhere above 0 since I was going lean. I know I should have let off the gas earlier when doing the recordings but I just kept hoping it would switch over and do something!
