AC Problems

diffuser plates

the dealer installed a diffuser plates. I think the ac is blowing more air now butthe weather is kind of cool...and we know the ac work good on cool days.. (shrug)

I just dropped my car off at the dealership today to have this TSB taken care of. HOPEFULLY this will fix things. I will post when I get it back to see what I find.

Ok, so I got the car back from the dealer yesterday. Same thing on mine with just having a diffuser installed. Im not quite sure how this is going to help/change anything, but I guess Ill have to wait a year before I can test things out. Anyone have any ideas as to what the diffuser is supposed to fix??

I would like to hear updates from those people that had it serviced by mentioning the TSB. I live in a desert climate where it gets 90+ in July, 100+ in July and August, and high to low nineties in September. After telling you guys that, let's just hope it's good news!

I live in Puerto Rico...Wanna talk hot 365,..... I thought I was just the unlucky to get one with a crappy AC, but I guess not. I have the exact same problem. To top it off, I took it back to the dealer and they said they fixed it "it just needed a bit more (freeon<----I think that's how it's spelled (shrug) ) In any case, I ended up with the exact same BS AC and a new noise everytime the AC kicks in! I'm pissed! (protest) I'm having to wake up early on my only day off to take in for this s***! (excuse my language)

Other than that....I love my Mz 3 (sun)

P.S. Maybe if we start sending letters in to Mazda they'll have a bulletin put out to fix this problem (shrug) .

Hello xenon929,

I also live in Puerto Rico and went to a couple of dealers to see the Mazda 3 closer.

I have to admit that the car looks impressive, even like a more expensive car on the interiors.

But, my concern is regarding quality standards. I read your message regarding the problems with a/c of your Mazda 3 and I really think Mazda didn't put lots of money in quality control standards.

It has to be expensive to establish excellent quality control for mass production vehicles, more expensive than making the Mazda 3 look like a BMW on the interior. But then, the problems you and others talk about in this forum are quality issues. I don't believe Mazda was not aware of possible a/c problems, or brake problems like others mention here at other threads.

For me, Mazda made a very attractive car with the Mazda 3, but those quality issues put Toyota and Honda above Mazda. I also wrote to Mazda and told them I am not an owner of a Mazda, and they wrote they are aware of the a/c problems, working to correct them, and that they also made a change in production for the 2005 Mazda 3. Not enough to satisfy current 2004 owners, I know.

Good Luck with your Mazda and Happy Holidays from Puerto Rico

funny how the tone of the letter changes when they are responding to current and prospective customers....

I too am looking at buying a mazda 3 and this "customer service" is not very encouraging :(

1st year prodictions tend to act this way...I replaced parts on the engine and then turned around and replaced the engine it's self. Just try and keep on your toes for every recal and update so when you come across a problem you can tell them TSP#XXX and they can cal mazda hotline and find out what it is and how to fix it...It's sad the moderaters and admins keep talley of the tsp's and WDS updates better than most dealerships do!

I am too an unhappy customer in regards to my Mazda 3's AC. I took it in about 1 month after I had it and told them the car was actually surging when the AC blew cold air and then hot air. The local dealership told me at that time the numbers were boarderline to where they could fix it and bring it in next season. Well, here I am next year... brought it in again. Dealership said they put a pound of freon in and that something was wrong, but nobody else seems to be having problems with their Mazda 3 so they don't know that they are going to do. They told me they would get in touch with me when they figured out what they were going to do. A week later -- no response. How covenient. I CALLED MAZDA AND COMPLAINED... YOU GUYS SHOULD TOO... THE SQUEEKY BIRDS GET THE WORM. 1-800-222-5500 EX 1138 COMPLAIN COMPLAIN COMPLAIN! (help)

Coolant Exploded!!!! Help!! What Now?

I just finished putting in my power fc and got back to my garage after a test drive. As I was sitting in the garage I revved the car up to feel the differences in the car. After revving it up a few times I started to see smoke. Then I opened the hood and smoke from burning coolant was everywhere. I looked on the floor and saw all of my coolant spilling out into a big puddle on the floor. I am scared to try and start up the car. I am pretty sure that I don't have any more coolant in the car casue there was so much spilling out of the car onto the garage floor. I know that the pfc is not the problem cause the car was running fine before I brought it back home. I have been experiencing minor overheating problems for the last few months. Nothing major, just over average temperature readings. After seeing the smoke, my temperature gauge read just under the top hash mark. I have heard about stock AST's blowing, but I looked at mine and it doesn't seem like its leaking. What do I do now??????? Please help.....
