The air is pull thru the filter from the bottom. Still 20HP free.

Ok so the air coming thru the bottom is going thru the filter but the air going thru the top is just going into the intake not filtered, for some reason I can just feel the grime building up in the head, the rings yelling for help, and the cylinder walls getting scared. No thanks I'll by a real intake and get my HP that way. I heard that to, but thats on a dyno in a closed area, not driving on the street everyday.

that is not a smart idea, the reason its getting more hp is because the damn air isn't coming in thru the bottom it's getting sucked in more directly through the top where it will bypass the filter and screw up your motor. They used that as an example on how intakes effect cars, they were not recommending you do it as a mod on your car that you drive on the street with real time conditions.

What ever. You guys are looking for minor detail. I just read that you just have to open the filter box and that is it. All the air going to your engine is filter by the air filter.

Yeah, I understand. But if air flows from the bottom to the top and you open up the top then all the air will miss the filter? But hey, I dont have a MS3, the only time ive seen the air box on one of those things was when I was installing the first ever CAI on a MS3, so I may be wrong. You should get a CAI, its a b**** to install lol.

Once again, this was in a control area and in a dyno. For sure I am not doing this with my Baby...................

i took everything out from the front of the hood to the entering of the filter box...it runs better,but it is also louder....however,since it is a 1.6..it is not 20 hp!!
