what would be considered "Real" Proof ?

one-shot take showing him accelerating from 0 - 130 ?

one-shot take first showing his engine compartment ... closing it ... walking into the car ... starting it ..... pulling into the street .. the freeway ... and THEN Accelerating to 130 ?

if ya wanna convince skeptics, I guess that's the way to do it ... lol that'll be one hell of a long-ass video though
 
He does have proof, so I believe him.

Maybe he was on a slight incline going down.

so that means my protege will go over 120 or is there variety, some said they hit it at 120.
 
JrTekSilverP5, I don't doubt that you would've gone 130mph, I just really doubt that our car will be only at 5000rpm when going 130mph.

And no, downhill, backwind, turbo, NAAAAWHHZ would have no effect on the gear ratios, only how fast you'd get up to 130mph.

Now, I can't promise that I'll get to 130 since there are no stretches that long around here for me to do so (and cop-free). But as soon as I remember, probably this weekend, I'll take a video of me going to 110mph, as I know I've gotten there before without having to push for too long.

Once again, I don't disbelieve your story,and didn't, until I looked at the rpms (and yeah, people were speeding, but you still would have passed that van much faster than it appeared on the video).
 
I've gone 140 =). I hit 100's all the time going down the shore on the parkway. I've got a serious addiction to speed.
 
There are NO GOVERNORS on the P5!!! It is drag limited to 118MPH. There is not enough HP to overcome aerodynamic drag at 118MPH...In fact that is the highest tested top speed for a P5. Most top speed testing conducted on a closed course yields speeds ranging from 112-118.
 
Guys, he brought proof, and yet there are still doubters. The car is capable of 130MPH. You just have to have the right air density going through the MAF sensor as not to go outside its range of sensitivity thus cutting out your power. I myself have had my car up to over 140 MPH BEFORE I got boost. Granted it's an MP3 with only 10 more CHP, that is insignificant.
 
Yes, please hold your license up so someone can forward this video to your local police department. Video taping illegal activties is never a good idea, but bragging about them and posting the video on the internet for anyone to see is even worse.
 
Lol, true. Ever hear about the guy selling a video of him going 180+ in his Ferrari F40? The video got into the hands of the county he was speeding in, and he got a lovely letter in the mail to appear in court.

Its nice to knop that on a LONG straight strip of road (on a slight hill) I took my MP5 to within 3mph of the max tested speed for a stock MP5. What killed me is how F'n long it took to go from 85 to 115. I had to slow down for 2 reasons, 1; the street was going to curve up ahead (a ways, but at that speed I didnt want to push my luck), and 2; it wouldnt budge over 115 no matter how hard and long I rode the pedal. That being said, what SeminoleMan said makes a lot of sense.

Linux, did you watch the video closely? I'm not saying the car isn't capable of 130mph. Watch it again and you'll see that he's doing 130mph in 5th gear (duh) but at only 5000rpm!!!

Since the mp3 has the same gear ratios as the P5, try to see what I'm talking about and next time you hit above 110mph look at your RPMs.
Like it was mentioned before, I know that going 80mph I'm at 4000. You're telling me that +50mph will only go up 1000rpm?! No way.

Either he was trully going 130mph and his Tach is busted OR his Tach is correct and his speedometer is busted.

I'll have a vid ready after this weekend...
 
I'm pretty sure I can hit at least 100 in 4th gear in my msp....and isn't it basically the same trans?
