would it be reasonably safe for me to run 12 psi if i get my unichip custom tuned? (stock block)

mods are

1 step colder plugs
hiboost FMIC
jpipe back exhaust
unichip
welded lsd
injen SRI

currently dynoed at 204 whp(before exhaust) on 94 octane at 10psi




P.S. i was also wondering what people were thinking of microtech. i have a really good microtech tuner in my city and was considering picking one up used.

tune is bad though so i wanna get a custom tune and while im there i was thinking of cranking the boost. i might get alcohol/methkit too just to be safe.
 
There are guys running 12 PSI on less untuned mods and doing well and guys popping motors on bone stock MSP. It's almost a roll of the dice these days. I would say tuned on a unichip you should be fine, tuned on a microteck even better.
Meth would be Ideal!!.
I think you have your head in the right place.
It's a breath of fresh air to see someone asking this question, have a list of proper mods to run it and still ask if what is planned further will support it.
We usually get I have a stock MSP and turn the turn the boost up can I??
or I have a SRI can I run 15 PSI now???

thanks. as soon as i picked up the car i instantly hit this forum and spent hours going through topics before i decided what to buy ect. you guys really help me out so i figured asking first would be a good plan because i know above 10 psi is starting to get risky
 
i do want a gt28 later on but for now im gonna run the stocker, will it still be efficient around 12 psi?

my buddy slo2.5msp is running 14 psi tuned on a stock block and made 240WHP!! 14 psi is the max as far as stock turbo effeciency goes

Who is the microtech tuner? I may need their help in the future. Are they reliable and have the got a site or something where I can see their finished product?
 
you need to replace the fuel and air or injector relay wire. im not sure whats its really called i just found out about it.It opens a whole new world to these msps, mazda made are car with this thin wire running through the car and it makes the engine get hotter, the engine blow, or not get enough air and fuel to the engine which makes alot of problems for being that small. im getting a bigger wire to replace it and it will help all those problems and you can run more boost safetly. i will have a thread on it soon sorry if this does not make any since

.....And to think this whole time I thought it was the weak ass rods and small turbo and bad trans that was the problem(bang)

well he didnt say anything about the tranny, a weak tranny is a weak tranny IMO
