5x7 VS 6.5 in front?

As long as the are of the same quality, the difference is almost none. I'm willing to bet that you cannot hear the dfference between the two. It's really not worth the trouble of mounting 6.5's in a 5x7 hole.

I just installed a set of Infinity Kappa 5x7's in my car and I highly recommend them.

I actualy fit XR 6 1/2 woofers in my car doors. as far as sound goes they will be close but the 6 1/2 is superior in sound quality especialy when heavily amplified, over 50 watts rms. If you not running high power, to the level you have to run 14 guage into the doors like me then the 5x7s will save some time as long as they aren't to deep.

actaully you can hear the diffrence between 5x7 Coaxial and 6.5 coaxial (compared was the Alpine Type R speakers), 6.5's are a little more clear in the midrange and high range was about the same. That is why i got 5" components in my front doors

i put infinity 6 1/2 kappa perfect seperates and my own plates out of particle board and dynomated the doors and ran 14guage wire into the doors .........so it can be done:)

problem solved:
custom fiberglass kickpanels
for JL XR 6.5" component system

rear will get 6.5" Coaxial..

thanks everyone for ur opinions/options

I haven't finished them yet they were built for my 6 1/2 quart Qs but some slight adjustment would fit the tweeter of the jl and the mid drops right in. Only $225 bring they aren't done but they image great and are built tough. I am thinking of selling them and the Qs an ddoing some funky stuff, dual 4"s in kicks.

heres one I can email the rest.
