racing beat axleback

Jeff, don't you have the MSP axleback already? Just shortened?

ah, but he's only gonna be selling the axleback.

He can still use the resonator piping. He just needs axleback

So theman is wrong?

I'm not 100% sure either way....

Not entirely.. he is right in saying that the flanges are different but I know from my personal swaps between the two cars that you can bolt the RB axleback to the stock resonator piping of the MP3. You just need a really strange gasket is all.

is there a difference between the mazdaspeed axle back and the racing beat axle back besides the tip shape?

I'm pretty sure that is the only difference as the MSP axleback was made by Racing Beat.

The aftermarket exhaust has the rolled tip while the 03 MSP is round and th 03.5 is oval (which I have).

Since you'll be looking for just the axleback I'll continue my search as I'm looking for the full catback.

the stock MSP/MP3 racing beat muffler WILL NOT FIT into the racing beat catback! the flanges are different! not to mention the pipe diameter is a LOT smaller

just call racing beat instead of being pesimistic

Didn't know this....thanks for clearing that up.

Yup...however as theman has clarified this will not bolt up to the existing aftermarket piping. Guess a call to RB is in order, maybe they'll work with you?

then that would mean the Racingbeat catback's axleback would not fit on a stock pro5 resonator pipe, correct?

Safe to assume that?

I thought the stock racing beat muffler from the mp3 was the same as the aftermarket one

can i get some bumper and exhaust tip pics? I got ahold of racing beat, turns out that I likely have the correct muffler. Based on racing beats pics and dimensions they gave me, I have the one for the sedan. They are trying to figure out why its coming up short on the bumper. Tip should be like another inch longer. I didnt have any issues with the stock racing beat or corksport when i had it on

do you have a rear lip on the bumper? Cause Jeg's car with the stock exhaust is about an inch behind his rear lip

I got the final word from racing beat. Turns out its coming up short because of the bumper lip and that it wasnt designed for the mp3. They just recommended that I get the tip extended

so why does it look fine on my car?

Good question. Racing beat cat back with bumper lip. Is your muffler tip pretty much flush with the lip? My tip should be 1"-1 1/4" longer to be flush.

depends on how you look at it... the top of it is about 3/4" from the lip.. bottom of lip to the tip is about 1-1/4"
