I think someone oce told me that the stock wheels weigh between 16 and 18 lbs. per wheel.
I dunno, does anyone know for sure? All I know is that these weigh 20 lbs. per wheel, and I have already noticed a handling loss...oh well, the price to pay for style.
yeah, I think so...I wanna say somewhere around $160 a wheel...but they are so heavy! Oh well, the sacrifices to be made for style...there goes your incredible handling.
I love digital cameras...the pic of my new wheels was taken with a friend's digital camera, and so was this one. You get such better online quality out of a digital image; it's so worth it. Just thought I would post this one for fun. (BTW: that's me driving my baby in the pic, I love the MP5!)
i KNOW that the stock tires will fit on 16" Motegi MR7's. I am currently riding on the same Dunlop SP 5000's that I had on my stock wheels; I just paid to have them taken off and then mounted on the new wheels. I think it cost somewhere around $60, if I'm not mistaken. Yeah, it's a bit of a stretch on the tires, but they still work great, and the 16"s haven't destroyed the handling as I thought they would. WOOHOO!
I just ordered these in 17" from Pep Boys w/Ventus tires. Rims were $140 each, tires $89 each. They give you a 10% discount when you order the package. Also got another 10% off for opening a Pep Boys Charge account. Total including lugs, mounting, and balancing came to $985-ish. These look great. Pretty good deal, I think.
Just bought 17" MR7's mounted to Kuhmo's on EBay. Rims & tires $501. Bought 3 months ago! YAY! I'll send pics when they are mounted. Also, the person asking about mounting prices....usually you can go to a used tire place. They typically will dismount and mount for $5 a wheel. Balancing is usually another $5 a wheel.
