CX-5 Owner ages?

You're right that it was quick. 😂
It's called mazdaforum.com . They have many sub forums that vary on topic and are also model specific. There is a CX-5 sub forum. You can take a look without creating an account there. It'll be very quick who I'm referring to when you read through any of the threads.

65 here. Bought my first CX-5 brand new in 2017. It was totaled in February so just bought a new 2025 last month.

I agree with your assessment of the arrogance displayed on the mazdaforum website. Some of those comments are totally uncalled for.

I also frequent the CX-5 Reddit (just reading, no posting). It does seem the crowd is younger there but there is a lot of good information and helpful commentary.

I am surprised to be the youngest person here so far. But that may be more of a forum vs social media thing also.
Ditto! I’ll take the crown at 38, anybody else able to top that? 😄 CX-5 is an awesome family vehicle. Bought our ‘13 2.0L brand new and had many happy years of ownership. Our oldest daughter came home in that CX-5 after she was born. Miss that car every day, glad we got the ‘23 to keep Mazda ownership in our immediate family. Wouldn’t be surprised if it ends up with our kids when they’re driving age, time will tell.

only a handful of younger people responded on FB CX5 Club (USA) which seems to be a pretty active group with lots of posters. lots of older people and surprisingly a lot of older turbo guys and gals. Some pretty cool responses all and all. one person posted they have 650,000 miles on a na version and lots of 80+ turbo owners. I think the youngest was 19 and a couple of 21 year olds.

I had to look Davros up and went to the mazdaforum to see who it was lol.
I was curious and kept reading. He owns or runs a shop in the gold country part of northern California and claims to be an authorized independent "warranty" service technician. I thought warranty service is available only through dealerships? Anyway, I would understand God complex from engineers/mechanics who led the 787B to win in 1991. Otherwise, it is very confusing.

I think I remember posts from you back in the day! I had a 2013 2.0 ltr also and was active on this (or similar) forum back then. Sold it in early 2019 to downsize to a Mazda 3 hatch. My wife then bought another CX-5 in 2023.

How about you create a poll with categories set at 5 years spans. Then we can vote on our age groups. Data is key!
pretty interesting looking at the FB responses. I don't thing there is really enough traffic here that poll would shed much light. as our pool so far has 19 or so actual responses with ages given, but based on the responses definitely an older person's rig regardless of turbo or na...

I'll add to the stats...I'm a 72 yr old woman and bought my 2019 CX-5 used 3 years ago. After a lot of research, it became my car of choice to replace my 2010 Subaru Forester. I might have preferred leather seats and the 10 speaker Bose system but had to go with what was available. Cars were still in short supply due to COVID. Since I'm retired and live in a small-ish town, it's a great car to get me around daily and an occasional highway trip. No turbo needed!

Bought a 2025 CX-5 Carbon Turbo at 26 last year. I was initially looking to buy a manual 2025 Miata RF but my dad is 6'5" and unfortunately he couldn't fit in the passenger seat comfortably. We tried the Mazda 3 Hatchback and it was the same story. Really happy with the CX-5 so far, and I'm glad I picked up the 2025, as the 2026 has some features I'm not huge on.

Starting with an MG Midget in 1966, it seemed that my car choices could only become more sensible. Moving through a few Volkswagens, and then many Subarus, I then believed that my pair of Hondas offered higher reliability. Now that I'm 82, I'm betting that my recently purchased 2025 Mazda is the most sensible car I've ever owned; the CX-5 certainly feels and drives like it!

I'll contribute to the minor offtopic banter.. the "bad apple" that many of you are familiar with from other forums also had a very brief stint here. I think he only made it a couple of weeks before he was banned for the same behaviour he has on the other forum (where I believe he's actually a moderator). Found out after the fact that it was the same guy lol.

I would expect no less with the staff on this forum getting rid of him. Thanks for filling in the back story. I had wondered why he's not a member here to continue his quest to inflate his ego.

And it makes sense he's a moderator as why he's been able to run rough shot over there. Him being a moderator further solidifies me not wanting to have anything to do with that forum.

He used to be on this forum under a different name, very arrogant. He didn't last long as a testament to this forum's civility and good taste. 65, by the way....
Hopefully, they're not going over to the Mazda Forum. There's one individual over there that has a god complex and has to interject himself in every thread trying to show off how intelligent he is and that he has all this experience. The guy is downright rude and condescending. The fact he has been moderated or banned says a lot of how that site is run.

Here, it's more welcoming and disagreements don't turn into genitalia measurement contest.
