CX5 Turbo water pump leak?

CX-5 GT
During recent oil change I found dry coolant spray in a rotation outward pattern around the water pump. Its all dry and no wet spots.

It seems it may be leaked some from the weep hole and due to the engine running the water belt rotating it splattered it in a perfect rotation pattern.

We did have some very high heat days past month.Car is less than 30k.
My other cx5 non turbo has sustained many high heat days, has 70k+ miles and never seen any spots like this whatsoever.

My experience in the past is once water pump starts to leak they leak and are wet almost all the time. This one puzzles me as there are no leaks now or no new spots. Mazda has TSB for water pump weep hole leaks but its all related to dry coolant on the pump itself not all around the engine.

Anyone seen anything like this?
Could it be high heat and pressure caused the weep hole seal to purge some?

Appreciate any insight. Thank you.

Indeed it is. I am now keeping an eye on it.

Will check with the dealer too but wanted to see if anyone has experiended anything like it.

You bring a very good point. I just assumed its coolant in that area.

I wonder what else could leave such marks...whatever it is..seems the rotating water pump pulley splashed it all around.

the only thing same color that I know of is AC refrigerant oil with UV dye :)
but the Ac compressor, lines and pressure valve are all clean and they are further away.

ps confirmed. its coolant spray.

any chance its been there since new?
i usually look around engine bay for anything off...changed a battery in family members car over the weekend and found a peanut butter cookie sitting on the fender side of it...it looked new so i ate it
i guess i would clean up the stain and monitor that way?

Unfortunately it happened recently. I monitor every month at least the upper engine bay the hoses were pristine last time I checked.

Yea thats my plan for now. Wiped it off and thats how I found its coolant. If it re-appears its dealer visit as my car is still under warranty.

I did closer look at the water pump. It seems it squirted coolant from around the weep hole and the drops hit the rotating pulley which then sprayed it in a rotational pattern around. Based on the quantity it was more than one drop :)

Thank you all.
