I have a 06 Mazda 3 that ran hot on me so I stop and let it cool. I filled it back up but now it will turn over but will not start?? Any idea what is going on???
The 3 uses timing chains not belts, the rest of what he said is right though. if you ran too hot too long you could have warped a head or even blown the motor (unlikely)Another scenario could be that the timing belt jumped a tooth.
Why did it run hot, how hot did it get (was the temp gauge pegged?) and for how long? A stuck-closed thermostat can result in a warped head. Another scenario could be that the timing belt jumped a tooth. How many miles are on your odometer?
Yes, a blown head gasket is your culprit. It hit the hot on the gauge then I pull over and lt cool then filled it back up with water.. I took the plugs out, one at a time, and turned it over and water is come out!! Blown head gasket???
