What have you done to your MSP today?

pretty sure that doesn't work... yes?

Correct. I questioned the guy when he tried to do it and he was all like "Oh we can check any code with this" so I said okay and he hooked up...low and behold "Gee that's weird it's not showing any codes" so I said thanks anyway and he started talking about how he liked my car and wanted a Prelude with V-tec...

I am not making this s*** up either.

Yeah, I put a really nice codescanner on my car (made by bosch, costs $2000+ on ebay used, model escapes me) and it didn't pull the ABS code. its gotta be a different scanner and likely on a different port.

Yea I found out the port for it is actually under the hood in the upper right hand corner if you're looking at the engine bay (closest to driver side door) and I think it said "Diagnostic" on it.

If you want to disconnect the AFC you have to take it out completely and then reconnect the wires in the ECU compartment. I was having the same issues you were having it sounds like and i just checked all my connections and sure enough I had a bad connection so i re soldered it and wala it was fixed.

My car was either way rich driving or at --- on the wideband.

We have a 5k snapon scanner and it will read air bags, ABS, engine codes and all kinds of things. Pretty much if it lights up on the dash it will read it.

thanks dude. I think im going to do two things tomorrow. Im going to first go to autozone and get that CEL checked. Then im gonna try the superstockmap and see if it helps any like Wagon and Rick suggested. If no help im taking that mofo off. When i can get time to get it properly tuned then ill put it back on. Thanks for the advise.

so if iwere to take my car to my local mazda dealer they could probably tell me why my abs light is on? i wounder how much theyd charge

A butt load.... or you could get lucky, but I guess if autozone can't read it, then mine as well give it a shot, it's not something you really want to leave alone, I'd say maybe $100 or so to figure out what the problem is.. that's usually how it goes 1hour's work..

hey there, got a question...
went up the hills with 3 other msps the other day and i felt like sliding all the way so i was thinking of getting a set of hankook v12s but on the other hand want to get the power exhaust from corksports as well as the motor mounts,
pretty tight on $$ so its either the set of tires or the exhaust and mounts...any ideas? everything's stock except for a sri as of now it would be great if anyone can enlighten me (bowdown)

Replaced two missing locks washers and bolts on the sub-woofer housing and added strips of foam weatherstrip tape to back edge. Rattling noise is gone now...

^^ well really its what you want either get some good tires to keep up better n have better traction on the roads.. or get n exhaust so youu can lide off the road and ppl can hear it haha jk i personally wud go wit tires especially if you like them twisties and turns

well as long as your tires aren't actually bald and illegal then I would go for the exhaust and MM, but remember you have to get the MM in, so either you put them in yourself or fork over more $$ to get them put in.... luckily I didn't have to do them, but I have heard the rear is a PITA but very doable

well they're not but they are some pretty crap tires..some brand called sceptor??
those msp guys checked it out and were like " who made these things?" lol. will the power gain from the exhaust be noticeable though? some say its going to raise the boost pressure a lil as well...

it's possible to raise the boost a little but ya you should notice a good gain in power.. just flows soo much better, didn't see if you had an upgraded SMIC or FMIC but the exhaust and a better IC is the best thing to do, I'd go with the cheap FMIC for now if you don't mind the work of installing, eventually I will get a FMIC but I want to keep my cai so gonna have to do some work to get one to fit.. but that is a while away, I spent wayyy to much money on my SMIC/harpipe kit and getting it fixed after this idiot screwed up the weld on the cold pipe for BOV flange.. $150 to get WR to re-bend/weld a new pipe section on the top cold pipe.. but anyways, ya as long as you can drive safely, you could prob. wait a little while to get the tires, the exhaust is a fun thing, then just let your tires wear a little more and then get new ones next thing you do

If you are getting the Corksport 80mm then it will definitely be noticeable. Especially if you get the downpipe to make it a full turboback.
