What have you done to your MSP today?

gonna get to ripping the tranny out today. are there any tricks to getting the drive shafts out? or just yank? yank on the green bit or the long skinny bit?

I'd like to get the 80mm but i dont think i could afford it with the cat and me being in CA...lol doesnt look gd...would welding a cheaper highflow cat to it work? btw thanks for the help man

it's possible to raise the boost a little but ya you should notice a good gain in power.. just flows soo much better, didn't see if you had an upgraded SMIC or FMIC but the exhaust and a better IC is the best thing to do, I'd go with the cheap FMIC for now if you don't mind the work of installing, eventually I will get a FMIC but I want to keep my cai so gonna have to do some work to get one to fit.. but that is a while away, I spent wayyy to much money on my SMIC/harpipe kit and getting it fixed after this idiot screwed up the weld on the cold pipe for BOV flange.. $150 to get WR to re-bend/weld a new pipe section on the top cold pipe.. but anyways, ya as long as you can drive safely, you could prob. wait a little while to get the tires, the exhaust is a fun thing, then just let your tires wear a little more and then get new ones next thing you do

ya in my garage i have a fmic kit that i am going to piece together and take out the stock fmic so i can cut a whole there and run pipe striaght 90 degrees off the new fmic so i can keep my CAI, every degree of colderness in these MSP's will help save the motor. also i am installing a wide band and SSAFC, i already have cat back custom 3 in. exhaust and i do wanna get the 80mm turbo back form corksportsszz (drive)

^^^ ya I have a cutout at the bottom of the cai filter now, in the little hump of the mud gaurds, I have the hydroshield, but I can tell you that even with the customMsp SMIC and that setup if it is at all cool outside the hotpipe is actually just warm and not hot at all, and the cold pipe is actually cold, it's crazy, but in the summer its not really noticeable which is why I want to eventually get a FMIC.. and also a CS or upgraded full radiator, so I'd have to work out where the hole would go with that, and with as little piping as possible, my brother has the MAM FMIC I think.. might be something a little diff. but he has the cai and fmic setup with the full radiator so I have his to go by when I eventually make my setup

oh and also, so my statement a few pages back now stands..... when I get my new spicy caliper paint, if I use the caliper cleaner spray and really get it clean, do I need to take the red caliper paint that is on there now completely off? or can I just leave it on there? also do I need to make any scratches kinda on it, to help the paint "grip" better or just make sure it's clean and put the 3 coats of new paint on there? I don't want this new paint to come off or anything, it's way to expensive to have that happen, but also the paint that is on there now is only a year old and is pretty thick but still clean

Okay so i got up today to go to autozone and get the CEL scanned. Start the car and no CEL. Cool. I think when i unhooked the ssafc it pulled a cel because something wasnt hooked up. I changed the map. Went with the fmic map. Map runs rich but there is no stumble/hesitation. Just a nice pull. I just want a more agressive tune.

I hear a flickering/fluthering noise from under the car. I think i might have a exhaust leak somewhere.

Just pry it out, if not grab bigger bar. LOL. Sometimes while you apply steady pressure tap it with a hammer for the hard to get ones. Once you pop the retaining clip they are out.

just make sure pull lol the drivers side was super easy, just pulled and it popped out
the passenger side was pretty much the same, just make sure the support that bolts to the block isnt connected

I had the same sound for a while last summer and found out the left side of the exhaust mani was a little loose and leaking from there.. but ya sounds like a leak.. hopefully not as hard to find as mine was

ahh. we just kinda yanked on it till it came out. pass side we left alone and wiggled it out as we pulled the tranny out. much lighter than i thought the tranny would be. but i have to get the flywheel done tommorrow. anyone know the partnumber for the drive shaft seals?

put in my non damaged radio suround finally and remounted the radio so it looks alot better, changed out the crappy kenwood sub for a kicker. the sound is much better

did a full engine bay, interior, and exterior detail in prep for MWMF. Sadly, I'm likely not going, so she's all dressed up with nowhere to go.

Since I know it will be asked, I'll likely be in florida attending my grandfather's funeral instead. It looks like taking him off of life support is the only sensible decision for his well being we have left.

^^ ya when I had it in the mani you could deff. tell like it sounded like it was coming from the engine bay area, I just couldn't find out where for a really long time, I had thought it was a cracked mani but it was just loose on the left side, but if it sounds like it's under the car, ya.. it's more likely than not the exhaust mani, but always good to check

and wagonbacker, good luck with everything, dealing with that stuff is never easy
