What have you done to your MSP today?

no. venting from the cold to the hot pipe will simply not work... the valve could open, but nothing would go through because there is equal pressure on both side.

Okay I was pretty sure I was just being stupid, so maybe tomorrow I can try to bend this pvc hose to the U-shaped fitting on my intake. Atleast it only cost 2 bucks lol.

Either way, I plan on ripping out the radiator tomorrow to finally install my slim fans, since I have waited way too long to do so.
 
you have to fill it through the level indicator port.. good times. guess ill have to rig somthing up.

Yea I was just reading your post and was going to say that. I watched a tech do it before and remember he did it while the car was up on a lift so you just have to check the level with your pinky I hear is the rule.

huh? im confused, for a while I thought they were both on the bottom for the most part, but there is one that is kinda on the side of the tranny near the clutch master cylinder thing, and then the other is at the very bottom, I just used the recommended 3qt I think it was? of tranny fluid by connecting a tube to the end of the bottle and sticking the other end in the tranny hole on the side, and filled it up that way.. I dono, it worked...

I haven't done a fluid change yet, but it sounds like the one on the side is the fill.

ya I avoided the change for a while just because I couldn't believe that was the fill hole, but after my friend had his tranny out (and I could look all over the tranny that was out of my old msp for another hole) I decided that it was the fill hole, I suggest to keep it from getting messy to get those funnels with the thin and long connecting pipe/hose to it to fill it up, much easier and faster (I found one of those after I did it, but next time I guess..lol)

Need some help. So today i decided to disconnect the ssafc. So when i try to start the car it starts then turns off. I try again and it stays on but now i got a CEL. Not sure what the light could be. I hear a fluthering noise from under the car. Im guessing the highflow cat might be done. Does autozone still scan CEL? My car is running really rich too. From idle im getting 10.0s. Any suggestions.
 
Just curious why you disconnected it? You most likely have a bad connection at your ECU harness where you tapped into for a wire.
 
I think i got a bad tune. At 4k rpms my car stumbles like crazy. Car wont pass 80mphs. So i figured ill dissconnect it until i can make an appointment with a tune shop. I had swirlfx and some other msp guys drive my car today and they say its the tune. So u think its a bad connection? I guess i can take the whole thing off. All i did was disconnect the power wire(red) from the ecu to ssafc.

idk if it works if you just don't power the AFC... that might be your problem right there. it may not be passing the signal to the ECU correctly?
 
Well if it's just a bad tune, you can simply reload a different map. It is quite easy and I just loaded a new map similar to the stocksupermap that works a lot better for me. It is the last one on the updated list of maps in the AFC thread.
 
hmm. I guess tomorrow morning ill disconnect it completely. That CEL and car turning off at first start is confusing me. I didnt think the ssafc would cause it. Its funny. When i dissconect the ssafc i get a rich reading. When i connect it back i get a lean reading.

sounds like its working, and yeah you need a new map. why not just put in the superstock for now?

You know i thought of that. But im so fed up with the tuning this car. The other guys were running with stock ecu. And they were flying. I couldnt break 80. Pissed me off big time. Im gonna call a tune shop monday and see when i can come in and make an appt.

Sounds like a good idea. Make sure it's a legit shop so you know if the AFC is screwed up or just a bad tune.
 
took everything out this afternoon i could. mounts, supports ect. i cant quite disengage that one wire harness under the throttle, not sure where the depress is on it so ill get it when i pull the tranny.

also, I couldn't get the driver side drive shaft out. is there a trick? or just pull on it hard?

was hoping to get the flywheel to the shop today. but meh. ill be driving my wifes mx3 for a while =) fun car.
