Great fish! Can't wait to see vids! Man, you sound like me. haha.

Just replaced the o-rings, the car idols smooth again and hopfully the CEL doesn't come back, now its time to go test my ALT.

Autozone has a machine that hooks up to the batt and can tell you how your alt, starter and battery are.

My alt isn't working. What a surprise. Now, the question is, WHY is it not working? Because it went bad, or the more likely cause, wiring? My CEL also came back on, gotta get the code to see why that little b**** is on.

If I can solve these two issues, I'll be ******* happy.

The start nor the alt are working on their own, ideas?

Could someone with abs disconect it from the engine bay and tell me if anything changes like the starter not working or the alt not working?

good luck with that. i HIGHLy doubt it's the issue.. maybe you have some wires crossed.. how much rewiring of things did you do?

We didn't rewire anything, thats the confusing part. We swapped harnesses, so I have a MTX engine harness right now, just missing the abs and all connections are connected. :(

I'd just like to rule out the abs.

well the engine harness doesn't see the abs wiring to my knowledge...

so lets get it straight.

you have your stock interior harness,
p5 MTX engine harness

WHICH motor?
and the p5 trans.

your starter, alternator, speedo are all currently not working?

The abs system is in the engine bay w/ a fat fat plug, probably the biggest in the whole engine bay.

My motor, p5 trans, p5 engine harness, my interior harness & yes, starter, alternator and speedo are not working.

I know the speedo isn't working because it takes the speed from the abs sensors in the hubs, which I don't have.

you're not going to have a speedometer working until you get the speedo gear and have it mated into the trans..

is the abs connector unplugged??

if the alt isn't working, the battery should be dead totally. the alternator only keeps the car running. the starter wont work if the battery is dead.

I'm not worried about the speedo that much right now, the gps tells me how fast I'm going. I wanna get the alt fixed, asap. I can't drive my car far at all with this problem. Yes, the abs connector is unhooked.

I've been charging the batt and I have a push button on the starter to bypass the ignition.

You have to run all the lines in the bay, big b****. I think I will just swipe the sensors though, should make my speedo work.

Neox says the Alt grounds it self on the block and the black grounds itself to the chassis through the mounts so he suggested I run a pos straight from the bat to the alt to see what happends.

It should tell me if its just a wiring problem(if it works) or if the alt just went bad at the sametime as the swap(if it doesn't work)
