I don't want to swap it if its not working because of wiring, not because it died. Waste of time and it won't fix anything.

Figured out a solution, bypass the harness positive and go straight to the batt. Just tried it and it worked, no clue why the harness pos isn't working but at least I have a fix. :D

lmfao! Shut the hell up Jason! I need more monies!

Check out the first post, getting really close :D

Damn greg. I just saw ur first post. Coming along real nicely. The colored turbo is sexy bro. Wanna color mine. (evil)

On top of the gear box there is a clip that the harness hooks up to for your speedo. Should be below the battery tray and towards the intake manifold.

if its from an ABS car, isn't the reluctor wheel that that is supposed to read off of missing?

I am not sure? I know when I changed my engine I had to do that for my speedo to work. My car did not have ABS.

Autozone has a machine that hooks up to the batt and can tell you how your alt, starter and battery are.

lol, you know that that is just a giant multimeter that they hook up to make sure the pos wire is getting signal right?

Neox says the Alt grounds it self on the block and the black grounds itself to the chassis through the mounts so he suggested I run a pos straight from the bat to the alt to see what happends.

sorry, just wanted to clarify this...what I said is that the alt ground itself to the block THROUGH itself and then from there grounds to the chassis through the ground wire on the passenger motor mount...the black/white wire going to the bolt on the tranny is a positive connection, but if that wire is not receiving signal then there is either a ground issue prior to it or is isn't hooked up to the battery

the starter and the generator (alt) are both connected to the same positive wire from the wiring harness, so since both aren't working thats the issue

greg just txted me this morning though and told me he figured out that he had one of the wires in the wrong spot on the fusebox, thus that main pos wire was being grounded at the fusebox instead of getting power from the fusebox lol...he fixed that and that fixed the issue with those! as for the VSS...yes he is missing the speedo gear that is in the tranny on the back...it's just a black dummy connection there on the cars with ABS

ogsp5: you must have a transmission from a car without ABS...the cars without ABS have a gear in that plug that will give you a speed sensor reading...the cars with ABS do not and read straight off of the axels...however the wiring harness still has a plug that hooks up to that dummy connection even when it's on a car with ABS, idk why it just does lol

dub: now that we know that those plugs by the strut are where you would get VSS from on an ABS car, you probably can run those ABS sensors from the p5 to your axels on your car and get a speedo reading off of that...you can hook them up without installing the rest of the ABS system

Alt problem is fixed :D

CEL is cause the speedo isn't working and this weekend I probably will take the front abs sensors for the hubs and see if that'll fix that problem, which it should. I'm a very happy camper :D

More turbo goodies came :D
