Issue with head light plug

Was trying to change a low beam headlight this past weekend and noticed that the plug (connector wires) used to deliver power to the lamp no longer fits snugly when plugged in. The result is that it comes loose and doesn't make sufficient contact to turn the light on.

I have checked the rubber seal and it's not doing anything to cause the problem. The connector makes good contact with the prongs. it just doesn't seem to hold on no matter how much pressure I put on it.

Has this ever happened to anyone? Should I be replacing these parts? Can they be purchased online?

Did you take the little adapter off your old bulb, and put it on the new one? I almost threw it away the first time I was changing a headlight (dunno)

Yes. The adapter was fastened to a new bulb, re-insterted, and them clipped in (that little clip is a b****, btw). The light seems to hold fine. I then apply the rubber seal around the light and fasten it in.

Tha last step is just the pugging it in. I have to push extremely hard to keep the light on. If I let go, the plug seems to lose it's connection to the prongs and goes out. It's basically not connecting properly. I'm wondering if this means I have to replace the connector wire (plug) now? Trying to keep from getting ***** at the dealership at the moment. I want to make sure it's noting I'm doing that causing this.

plug the bulb to the connector outside of the headlight and see if its loose or not. if it is something is wrong. if it isnt then its the way you are putting it in there
