I'm Installing My Su (street Unit) Rear Motor Mount And The F'n Thing Will Not Go In!! My Speed 3 Is Stranded Behind An Autozone Because Of This.

Somebody Please Advise On How To Do This? I've Tried Everything I Could Think Of. It Took Me About An Hour To Take Off The Stock Mount, This Isn't An Easy Job All.

I Was Thinking About Jacking Up The Tranny To Make It Fit But I'm Not Sure How High You Can Jack The Tranny Up...my Hands Are Killing Me :(

Thanks but that's the one I went off of. The stock mount was hard as hell to get off! My hands were bleeding afterwards. My su rear motor mount just will not go in and now it's stuck!! Yes it sounds simple, but I promise you I'm not weak and it almost took an act of God for me to pull the stock one out.

That "how to" is bs as far as concerned

Remove two of the three bolts holding the cast aluminum bracket to the tranny, and loosen up the third. Makes it much easier than trying to shove the whole motor out of the way.

Thanks! I never thought of that. I have a buddy that is gonna help me out with it tomorrow morning and I'll try what you suggested. :)

Hmmmm....I just drove mine onto the ramps, crawled under removed the bolts, shoved the motor up with my hand and took out the stock mount. Dogbone went in like a charm. 30 minutes top (I spent a little time cleaning the threads on the bolts).
GET SOME GLOVES!!!
Hopefully you get it in today.

THank you! However, I think the su mount is a lot harder to get in there. I just finished it and drove the car around... HOLLY s***!!! what an improvement!!!! NO wheel hop, it's putting down the power better and it shifts like butter (drive2)

I had to buy some lubricate and stray it on the durometer urethane on the top and bottom on the mount to get it to move forward and to the side. This worked like magic! I also had to take off the bolts attached to the tranny so I could move the mount over it. The "How to" section for the motor mount install doesn't apply fully for the su rear motor mount. With this mod a lone I will run atleast 14.1 in the 1/4 for sure, can't wait to install my cobb sri 13's are coming really soon
