Who here actually blows through the MAF??

Stupid question, but isn't it roughly the same if you have it before or after the turbo? I mean a turbo is basically a small super fast fan. If its blowing 6psi, doesn't it need to suck roughly the same through the intake/atmosphere? I've heard stories of people losing hands because they got their hands close to the intake of the turbo and got it sucked right in.

I know there is a big argument about where to put the MAF. Well I have mine ran MAF>BOV>TB. I did this before finding out that the BOV should be first. I have had it like this for about 6,000 miles and hasnt stalled at all. Even the guy who tunes my car says my BOV should be before my MAF otherwise it will stall, but it doesnt and havent seen any problems at all.

so alittle update, last night i wet ahead and out my maf right before my TB, so in between my BOV, and MAF, and holy s*** does the car run awesome, i just kinda modified the piping i allready had, to see if it would work, ill snap pics later on this morning, this was totaly for testing purposes, because next weekend im changing my intercooler and downgrading to 2 inch piping, so it wont say this way.

but performance, and daily driving, has increased by 200 percent, its like night and day, i couldent believe it, with my old setup, it would stall, and studder, and be laggy down low, if i was just driving normal, and was on the interstate, in 5th, with 1/4 throttle the car would be jumpy, and feel like its hesitating, over all it felt like s***,

now with the new setup, the car is feels like a stock turbocarged car, no lag, no stalling, no studders, nothing, and feels much stronger, now mind you i had to relocate the batt to the trunk, for more room, and i also installed my new rising rate, adjustable fmu, but its amazing non the less.

The basic idea it to prevent the MAF from reading all the air being vented but still read the air entering the TB. The farther up the pipe that the MAF is closest to the TB and the further the BOV is from the MAF the better your results...

Are you sure the new RRFMU didn't help out some?

So if you run the MAF right near the TB, where do you guys run your IAT?

my iat is about 2" from the the TB...my MAF is about 8-10" from the TB and my bypass is about 12" from the maf.

no cause i ran it with the changed MAF, with my old vortec unit, and it had the same outcome, so it was def the placement of the MAF

intake air temp...

my haltech comes with it's own so I left the stocker just dangling....I'll tie it up out of the way...probably behind the battery.

Brian - Why didn't you put the IAT on the boosted side?

Also, does anyone know the max temp that they can read?
