Then why doesn't mine go apeshit?Aricjm15 said:we hooked the stock map sensor directly to the manifol per Juans directions, stock map sensor goes apeshit when it see's positive pressure and tosses CEL
Super Matty P said:my stock MAP is connected to it's wiring harness but NOT a vaccuum source on the IM anymore.
I'm running just the haltech's MAP and the car runs and drives flawlessly (aside from being pig rich). No CEL's, nothing.
Mine did it almost instantly, as soon as i turned the car on and let it idle.Super Matty P said:no problems here with it....of course I'm not boosted yet....once it's actually receiving boost it may go haywire, until then though it's perfect.
Reffoxel said:My understanding is the negative effect of running a pull through MAF sensor as a blow through MAF sensor is you'll destroy the sensor quicker. Not immediately but alot sooner than normal. This is just what I've been told by a performance mechanic I know.
Super Matty P said:I don't see how. Let's assume you're pulling in 400cfm of air THROUGH your maf...the turbo/super will compress it into a smaller tubing increasing pressure but it's still the same 400cfm of air.
Maybe the pressure will have some ill-effect on the durability but I can't imagine it being THAT bad since there are several people here doing it for several months with no problems. (dunno)

BlkZoomZoom said:If the P5 ecu was never "taught" to see boost, does it act the same as a MSP when hitting the 5v's? I imagine it has to do something to protect itself and more than likely throws a code, but does it actually do the same thing?
