most horsepower

Having the fastest ******* MP3 on the planet - Priceless

Exactly :D

I think the more important question is how well / efficiently you can use the hp you have or will develop.

. And yes the FIC car blew due to 14psi with a t3/t4 and no intercooler.
(no) AHEM......actually its a straight T4 with no intercooler and no fuel managment....lol I just like givin ya a hard time.....since you know we were in a race to see who could finish the first prvately owned turbo Protege......man that was back in the day.....ahh memorys(rofl)

I'm not talking down to you guys, but just don't give someone false hope. This car will never see 300hp with less than $8000. The only thing left stock will be the engine block. I just think you should start out will a better platform if you want that kind of power.

If this was directed towards me, I wasn't giving false hope...I DID say...
300 is possible, but it won't be easy, and will cost a lot.

I just didn't specify an exact cost...

except he's rolling a pro5 and not an MP3 :)

I'm pretty sure he has an mp3....

NC, do you know where you can get those tranny parts?

I don't see why it would be THAT expensive to get your car to 300whp. I mean, with the 1st gen protege's BP engine, you can get it past 300whp using the BPT engine swap, haltech ecu, upgraded fuel and ignitino system, nice FMIC with custom tubing, and all the goodies in between for about $5000 total, if that. And seeing how the MP3 turbo kits maybe cost about $3000 or so on average, we are only talking about $2000 more than the BPT engine swap costs.

But then again the BPT is lower compression, and built for turbo, but so is the FS engine. It is similar in design in many ways to the BP, just a different family

I dunno, I just don't see where this "it will cost you $15k to get that much power" crap comes from. NA? yes definitely, but using a turbo and nos and all that stuff CORRECTLY shouldn't cost more than $8-9k (which is stil ridiculously expensive IMO)

The FS in our cars was not designed for Turbo use ans can not withstant over 10PSI and hope to survive.

(scratch) I have read an article (not there anymore) in http://www.bellengineering.net/MP3.html , Corky states that the MP3 is good for up to 300HP. 300hp is like 255+whp. Which is the edge of this engine, he said that the bearings will bend.

10 psi can do what? 90-110HP ...if its well managed I think is more than possible.

170whp is good enough (2thumbs)
200whp will be perfect (rockon)
250whp will be the edge (stoned)

just a thought...

10 PSI can gain over 100 whp but its the other mods, Exhuast timing ect that have to be implemented to yield even higher numbers, which is why terry can do over 200 whp with only 6 PSI.

Mazdamotorsports.com used to sell the gear sets, but I think they don't sell to the public anymore. Tripoint prolly has them, I think they are the ones who make them.

And I drive an MP3 whoever said I was rolling a P5.

If you did get 300whp. You'll still be getting beat by integra's and honda hatchbacks! Not to mention WRX, GSX, & the New lancers...

Stop...Don't make it sound like you will be beat by your run of the mill import, because the reality is you will have a street beast. a very fast and extremely good handling car..No, the protege will be be a 10 second car..But who cares? How many people do you know that actually HAVE 10 second cars? 300 whp on this car would not only be something to whooop on competitors with, but something you could look at and say damn..I am the only one to pull this type of power of of this machine

Actually, with only 200 to the wheels, you'll be giving WRX's, GTI's, or any car that is pushing out the same HP, but weighing more. That's why you'll be able to hang with those guys......WEIGHT differene.

so pretty much, we are talking about alot of money. As of right now im going all for looks, I just bought a new set of wheels and tires.( Giovanni Kobe 19" w/pirillie tires, same ones off of Sean's Mp3, from Automoticve R&D) and im getting my body kit, hopefully the mint blue(if everything works out) in august. Then I say sometime in late Dec/early January its all performance. I just want the most horsepower i can possibly get out of an Mp3. The thing is Im going to buy everything at one time. So patience is the Key, but truthfully 300 hp is my goal.

I dont think so...

Yes we will be weighting a bit more...but the 300whp hondas will not have the amount of torque that we will have. So our cars will be pulling stronger than any honda at any time.
Im sure our cars will be making 300whp sooner in the band. And of course the honda will have more rpm to work with...making it pull longer, but your peak will be farther and never reach our amount of torque.

Any thought on my barbling?? Am I Right?

I have to apologize I did not read this whole thread (just the last page) But a 200whp protege will whoop a WRX,Type S, GSR, LS vtec hatch's ect
