Zack Mac's P5

Hey Zac! Quick question. After replacing my bulb and you reccomending getting HID's now (Plus DDM has them on sale for $30 each!), did you get the 55w for the fogs or no? I remember reading that the H3 bulb in the fogs is a 55w but I dont want to possibly order the wrong light!

Also did you get the recommend HID harness for any of them or no?

got too impatient. installed the SLS catted mid pipe and plugged the bung. bought a new donut and hangars for when the header ships

in the meanwhile, i installed hella horns and added squirters to my car :-)

here is a longer video of the squirters

Ha! Just realized I follow you on Instagram from this video. I meant to ask, what's the purpose of the squirter? Is that to just squirt people if they walk out in front of you? lol

the squirter comes from my dad, he used to have one in his jeep back in the day and had a silver duck mounted on his hood, it shot out the angry ducks mouth! so ever since then we put them in all of our cars haha just for fun

its also enjoyable to squirt people in crosswalks or at stop lights, kids love it lol

on another note almost all my parts finally came in. just waiting on a few things on backorder from AWR

hopefully installing header this weekend , its getting way too cold here

finally installed OBX header and sls midpipe, only to notice my ebay catback has a leak after not even a year

you get what you pay for

order placed for racing beat catback

Exhaust is installed. Sound Clip Coming soon....
obx header installed, sls hi flow catted midpipe installed, racing beat catback installed
i love the sound, it is almost like stock (from what I can remember) but it is a bit louder. i need to sound proof my p5 and fix all the rattles but that is for a later date.

the only problem i am running into is the flex part of the midpipe is vibrating on the support plate beneath the cross member.... around 2.5k rpm or during shifts or when i let off the gas it vibrates my whole cabin. it is wearing the threads a little bit so i need to find a fix for this ASAP

other then that, it is working nicely

Sounds good! Can't wait to hear the sound clip! :) I think its almost time for a new exhaust on my car. Went under the car today and found out the 2 exhaust hangers just past the second cat are completely rusted off lol!

im in desperate need of a fix for my sls midpipe. i cant take the vibrations anymore and i fear it will do damage to the pipe itself. it sits low and the flex part hits the support plate under acceleration or deceleration. i need to figure out a way to prevent this from happening!!!

but here is my messy engine bay (i still have my HID ballasts in a box, i never mounted them haha)

looks good man...if you decide to get rid of the rear bumper step pad let me know and i'll take it :P and also i saw that on your to do list you have the msp ecu...if im correct it wont work unless your turbocharged. you may want the MP3 ecu or a tuned ecu that a member offers on the forum. its a good mod though def worth looking into. but looks good (lol2)

also how much did the racing beat catback cost you? i have the mazdaspeed axel back right now

hopefully i can turbo charge this spring/summer. but thats in the future..
the racing beat catback was 420, 450 shipped

i solved the midpipe problem. i took off the lower cross member support plate that had a clearance issue with the bottom of the midpipe, heated it up and smashed it with a sledgehammer. bolted it back up, exhaust sounds amazing. ill take another video soon. next thing im doing is awr motor mounts, mine are shot.

finally got around to installing awr rear sway bar and yellow speed coil overs
i need to do some adjusting with the ride height and the rear sounds confusing but feels great so far

update 2/1

tire is scraping the fender , i haven't rolled the fender lip but even if i do it won't solve the problem
im going to have to add some camber i think

I saw this pic you posted of you doing your headlights. I''m about to embark on replacing my headlights and was wondering if when you detached your bumper, did you also take the screws out which attach it to the wheel well? In the pic, its hard to tell.

i would just take them out. there are 3 clips in the fender well, and a total of 8 screws along the bottom of the bumper to detach it from the fender liners, then you can throw the bumper wherever it needs to go to be out of the way. realistically, the are 6 screws (3 each side) along the bottom that probably could be left in, but it takes 2 minutes with an 8mm ratchet (use the ratchet/socket not the phillips screwhead) to take them out and get the bumper out of the way. everything else needs to be taken out for the bumper to be able to move.

Awesome. Thanks for the advice! Doesn't sound too bad. I'll be doing all this tomorrow. The thing that makes it tricky for me is I don't have a garage, only my cramped apartment parking lot. It'll be a fun process! Going to restore the fog lights and replace the fog light while I do this as well. I'll try to remind myself to take pictures and maybe start my own little build thread.(uhm)
