you know you drive an MSP when you are scared to drive long distances because of the fear of breaking down(mspo) <--DANGIT, I NEEDA TOW TRUCK!!!
you know you drive an msp when your car decides to overheat but the gauge says its completely cold...(experienced JUST YESTERDAY)
You know you're driving and MSP RIGHT when you don't have reliability issues like the rest of the group b**** about constatly. Other than popping the diff and upgrading the WGA, everything I've done to the MSP has been by choice. I've put in $2000 in repairs over the course of 32K miles in under 2 years. 6 cents per mile repair costs. I'm OK with that. You know you're driving a MSP when the "You know You're Driving a MSP When" thread is 99% jokes about unreliability...... Owned

Way to ignore the majority of posts in this thread....
You Sir, are the minority. And for the record, $2,000 in repairs in under two years isn't anything to write home about. Especially since you love to DIY...
I've owned both sports cars and economy cars that have needed nothing but oil, plugs, air filters / cleanings and brakes for 5 years of use. Do we really need to look at the Owner : Issue ratio of these cars ? For such a small community (MSP's only), these things are plauged with issues. Granted, some issues stem from people not knowing how to maintain or treat a car properly, but from what I've seen, most issues are due to poor quality and lack of consideration on Mazdas part.
I'm glad you chalk up your lack of issues to "Driving your MSP right".... Which implies that the rest of us are clueless as to how to drive properly, and the failures of these under-engineered piece of s*** cars are our fault. Did I get it right ? We the owners are primarily at fault for poor craftsmanship ? Just checking.
Sorry man,
I'm just super bent out of shape about the $$$ I've put in this car just to keep it on the road. My experience is not identical to everyone elses, but I see a lot of issues on the forum. I've had pretty damn good experiences with the many cars I've owned in the past, and this has just soured me a bit, as you can tell.
I have a bad temper, and it takes a bit to simmer down....
I love your car and hope u sell it.. But you did buy a very very modified one.. Not a close to stock one.. That tells me 2 things.. 1 : someone drove the s*** out of the car before you.. 2 they didn't put the best stuff in the right way..

Thank you, and thank you.
The only modified part of my car that has failed is the PAR tranny, and that was because PAR didn't include info on the crazy gear oil change intervals that they require, to avoid pitting of the teeth. Other than that's it's been Mazda parts that have s*** the bed.
Granted, you are 100% correct that when buying a modded car, there is more potential for issues, but at the same time, this isn't my first or 5th for that matter, Rodeo, and my previous experiences were nowhere near like this. Quite the opposite in fact.
This car had one owner before me, and he was "SlowMotionMSP", he has a stickied thread about "How much is my MSP worth". He is a 45 year old Indian man named Akbar. I know that he drove the car aggressively at times, but him and I still talk, and I doubt he really beat it too badly.
The shop that "built" my car specialized in turbocharging big domestic motors, and was not some hole in the wall shop. Kisor Performance, in Ohio (youtube it). So it was built by a pro, for sure. In addition to the repairs, I've also spent some decent $ on changing / adding parts of this set-up, which is fine & 100% my call.
I'm just saying, that I'm 28 years old, have owned a ton of cars, all used, and just now am I seeing a reason to buy new cars only from this point on.
